Hi again.

Does anyone know how the campsites at Fort Wilderness are assigned? I know they have preferred and non-preferred and full hook up or partial hook up sites, but which loops are which and which loops are for tents/pop-ups and which are for the bigger rigs?

Loops 2100-2800 are cabin loops. All campsites have water and electricity, ok, gonna save myself some typing and copy this from Jeff Spencer's website.

There are 788 conventional campsites at FW located in 20 loops (100 through 2000). Most sites are fairly secluded from one another by a generous growth of brush and trees between sites, though the hurricanes of 2004 did some damage. All but two campsites are back-ins and are a combination of paved driveway, which ranges in length from 25 to 60 feet, and sandy pad. There are two pull through sites in the 1200 loop. Each site is approximately 25 feet wide and comes with a picnic table and charcoal grill. All sites have electricity (20/30/50 amps) and city water. There are 695 full hookup sites that also provide sewer. The 90 partial hookup sites, primarily used by tent campers and those with tent trailers, are located on loops 1500 and 2000.

Thank you! What site is that from...do you have a link?

Interesting that it said "Check-in time for the campsites is 1:00pm; however, early arrivers will be allowed to check in if their campsite is ready. Check-out is at 11:00am. " I just called today and they said check in wasn't until 3:00. Maybe we can try to get there earlier than we planned (as if we will actually get out of the house any earlier! lol)

Thanks again!

Check in is 3 pm for the cabins. The cabins and the campers have different check in areas, the camper check in is a drive through. If you just called the 407 WDisney # then you got the standard check in answer for all resorts.

Thank you!

I just called again was able to confirm some of the info you just gave me and I requested a certain loop. I also confirmed that check in IS 1:00, not 3:00 as I had been told!

Thanks again!

While we're on the topic of loops, are they spaced really far apart? I have looked at the map and the cabin loops are in a very convenient location, just wondering if I should request a certain loop or if they are all as close to the amenities as they appear on the map. I like the area of the 2500 as it seems fairly close to laundry, pool and bus but the playgrounds seem quite far away. Just curious on actual walking time.
