Or should I say can we DH, me DS7, DS4, walk from MGM to Epcot?

If you can, about how long of a walk is it? Is it faster to walk or do the bus?

On our last day at WDW (Sat. 9/30) it is EMH at MGM. Our flight leaves at 6:55pm so we have all morning at MGM. I currently have lunch ADR's at Sci-Fi, but now I am questioning that. Would like to eat somewhere at Epcot for lunch.

Do you think making an ADR for lunch for around 1 will give us enough time to make it back to ASMo to meet ME at 3ish?

You can also walk. I never did it, but I've heard it's a 25-minute brisk walk. So, you're looking at "about" the same time to walk or boat, but I've also read (I think on Anita Answer) that during the summer months, the boat is actually hotter because it's semi-enclosed (humidity) and body heat doesn't help either. But, if your feet hurt from walking AND you're headed EPCOT, of all parks, you might want to rest your feet..lol.

I just made the walk about three weeks ago. It's a nice path and takes about 20-25 minutes, depending on your speed. You can also take the Frienship boats, but it takes about the same amount of time because they make stops at Boardwalk, Beach Club, Dolphin, etc. So it's really up to you. It's a nice quiet little stroll along the water though.

Exactly where at MGM do you walk from. I finally pulled out a property map, and it doesn't seem possible. From what I'm seeing, there are 2 major highways that intersect right between Epcot & MGM, therefore, you're crossing these 2???

After the nightmare of trying to take a bus from MGM to Epcot right after Fantasmic! (which we didn't even attend...I didn't know it only lasted 20 minutes and they'd be out so soon), I'd like to be able to have this option if ever necessary.

Thanks,

If you walk from MGM to Epcot where do you enter Epcot - front gate or WS?

The boat will take you to the entrance in WS between UK and France which if you are just going to eat may drop you closer to where you want to be than going thru the front entrance. Just check a map.

Since Aly brought up about Fantasmic, I wanted to say that my parents have done both Fantasmic and Illuminations in the same night using the boat. (I'm thinking 7:30 and 9 shows?) They left Fantasmic right when Mickey appeared at the end and got a decent spot in UK for Illuminations. I don't think you could do it with strollers though, they said the key was being on the first boat to leave MGM after Fantasmic.

You enter through WS if you walk, but I still don't see how it's possible.

When we did this...Fantasmic! started at 6pm, was over by 6:20 and we were heading out around 6:30 (we should've been heading out 15 minutes earlier but we ran into a yucky bus delay from MK to MGM). Illuminations was 9:30 (this was the downpour Dec when we were both there) and we had time to kill at Epcot (we didn't want to go too deep into WS because it was flooded bad at the opening of WS..to our ankles) before we headed out during Illuminations (we rode the monorail back to MK where our car was still parked), even with having to wait in an atrocious line for the buses. I'm sure you would've needed to do the boat (which I wish I had known about, or the walkway) to do the times you mentioned, though.

Hi,

You can walk. Here is how:

Leave MGM and head towards the Boat launch. stay to the right of the boat launch and you will see a paved walkway. It goes right along the river, you will walk the path that the boat takes. Follow all the way, past the Dolphin, the Boardwalk Resort will be on your right. Now take a right at Jelly Rolls and you are on the Boardwalk. Walk the length of the Boardwalk, Past the ESPN club on your right. Up and over the hill Beach Club is in front to the left. Go right, right up the hill and down and you will be in the World showcase!!

It is a beautiful walk 1) if its not too hot and 2) if you are not too tired!!

Have Fun
