Carriage suggestions????

We are heading to Disney for the first time Sept.15

We are flying and then we will be staying at the Wilderness Lodge.

My children are 3 and 4 and I know they won't be able to walk the whole time. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas about strollers? I know you can rent them at the parks but I was concerned about getting my kids back to the resort also. We have a double stroller and we have a double jogger. But I wasn't sure if I could bring the carriage with me on whatever we take as transportation to the parks... boat, bus, etc.

Any ideas would be great! Thanks,KIM

If you think the likelyhood of them falling asleep on the way back to the resort is high then I would go ahead and bring your own. At least the single. They probably won't spend that much time in the stroller in the parks. And you have to park the strollers to queue up for any of the attractions, shows or characters (well not all the characters) So be sure to have a poncho or rain cover for it just in case the weather looks like it may rain. You can take the stroller on just about every transportation, most you will have to fold it. You can usually roll onto the monorail, the ferry to MK, the boats from WL to MK you can roll onto, but they ask you to take the child out, the busses & trams from the parking lot you have to fold the stroller. The only one that jumps out at me that you can't bring the stroller on is the MK railroad. I think I read somewhere that some people bring them if it folds really tiny but for the most part you can't (no where to put them)

Hope that helps some

Hi Kim! You are going to absolutely love the Wilderness Lodge - we stayed at the villas this past May!

Ok, as for strollers, my girls were 5 and 2-1/2 so i know I needed at least one stroller. But my 5yo was just as exhausted (if not more so) than my 2yo; she didn't nap, but she was too tired to walk. So we brought one foldable umbrella stroller and rented 1 each day. Which means that getting back to WL, one kid had to walk or was carried (usually my younger, go figure! LOL) This worked for us.

As Sonya said, we had to fold up the stroller to get on the on the buses. We were lucky enough to hop on the monorail when it wasn't crowded so we rolled it right on. Same thing with the launches (boats) between WL and MK. I know that on the launch, no one ever told us to take our DD out of the stroller so we didn't :o Don't know if we missed something there or if they're more lax, but that worked well for us, when DD2 would fall asleep coming back to WL. We never made it onto WDW Railroad, so can't help you there.

I would definitely take at least a single, if not the double, stroller with you. As much of a pain as it is to transport down there, you'll definitely use it to get around WL, Downtown Disney and to and from the parks.

Good luck and have fun!!

Thankyou so much for the feedback! One other question? We have two umbrella strollers but they don't have a canopy to block the sun, that is why I thought maybe I should bring the double stroller or the jogger. But do you think the umbrella strollers would be better? Thanks again,KIM
