As far as I know, a small, soft sided cooler (like the size of a 6 pack) is fine. I do not think they will allow you to bring a cooler on wheels. In fact, I'm 99.9 percent positive on that one.
We actually got ours at Sea World b/c we went there before any of the Disney Parks - it worked out great. I don't know what we would have done without it!!
They are water tight so you can use ice. When we went, the workers at the carts and the restaurants were more than happy to put a few scoops of ice into it for us. Our water was icy cold all day, and since our cooler bag was clean and new, we even munched on ice. Also, I had brought thin baby washcloths in zip top baggies which were GREAT to cool off with. We soaked them in the icy water and then put across a hot neck.
wow, thanks for the link, that sounds like a great product for our Disney needs (and would work great for our hikes near home too instead of the bulkier stuff we use!) Thanks! Did you say you got them at Sea World of all places? Has anyone seen these on sale anywhere on Disney property (we'll be there full time and are not renting a car) or anywhere local?
Val, I was wondering about the size and bulkiness to carry too. We never carry a cooler, or any bag that we can't wear as a backpack. We used to, though, when we had kids in strollers. Maybe they used the cooler but put it in the basket of the stroller??
We took a rather LARGE soft-sided cooler bag with us into the parks last July and it was a godsend! Granted...it was heavy as you know what carrying it from the monorail into the park until we could get our stroller rental to put it in, but, boy were we glad we brought it along. We put these neck wrap thingys in it that expand with water and we would tie them around our neck and drink our ice cold water and Diet Cokes and we were very comfy in that hot Florida heat!
I don't even think you would have a problem bringing one on wheels in.

I have a suggestion. Get one of those golf course cooler bags. Here's a link to see what I'm talking about: http://www.koolitgolf.com/koolit/index.htm

Mamabeat, you used this at both Sea World and Disney? Very cool (ha!ha! pun intended LOL) but I would have been hesitant about it based on its size.
