You're probably thinking of Sea World's Discovery Cove for swimming with dolphins.

I know there's a scuba thing at Disney--with sharks--at Living Seas with Nemo, but I think you have to already be certified. Not sure of the details.

They did at one time have dolphins at Disney--I truly don't ever remember seeing them...and one trip, we spent hours in there looking at the tanks. I do love the manatees though!

Good luck with your search.

They do have this tour at Disney--it's not swimming, but you can get in the water.

It sounds a lot like a program they had (for A LOT cheaper...lol) at Gulfport's Marineland Oceanarium, which I now wish we had forked out the money to do...we went 2 months before it was entirely destroyed by Katrina.

Yes, I checked it out, it's called Dolphins in Depth, it's at Epcot, and it's more of a Dolphin Encounter. Apparently there's an introduction to the animal, and then there's a chance to get into the water and up close and personal with them; the trainer guides the animal to the human and helps them make contact.

Dh called dd21 this morning to tell her about it and she was really happy about it. Even the $150 price didn't scare her off; we told her we'd arrange it but she has to pay for it. I warned her that the price could go up, too. Now to try and make the reservation!

Thanks again, you guys. This board ROCKS!

Discovery Cove (part of Seaworld) is awesome. You have to be at least 6 to go into the dolphin pool. We did it a couple years ago and plan to go back with my DD for her 6th birthday. You also get a 1 day entrance to Sea world or Busch Gardens within 7 days before or after your visit. Keep in mind Discovery Cove treats their guests as VIPs and you must have a reservation for that day due to they limit the number of guest per day. Check out their website. It was an awesome experience. Pretty much everything is included in the price, just bring your swimsuit, they will take care of the rest.

I tried googling for a website and it took me a while to find it, and once I did I found it very confusing.

I think we're going to do the Disney encounter, though, if we can get her in. We are already at Disney, and I am the sole driver, and this way I won't have to try finding yet another site!

Thank you for the info, though.

Max- Just in case you didn't see my comment on your other post...

DH and DD(age 9 in Dec) are doing the Seas Aqua Tour. It's in the Living Seas at Epcot and it's $100/person. It's called a scuba-assisted snorkel, so they don't need to be certified. We are going to practice with my BIL's mask so she can get used to that before we go. They are SUPER excited about this tour. DD is very comfortable in the water, so I think the idea of swimming with all those fish is going to be cool. But if they mention sharks, I'm not sure she'll hang with it. We'll have to see. I'm not sure if this is the same tour as the Dolphins in Depth- sounds a bit different.

Do a search in Disney's site for "Seas Aqua Tour" and see if that's what you're looking for.

I almost forgot. Dh's Dad's b-day is on 12/27, and they live near Tampa. So Dh & I are leaving :( DW on the 27th to go have dinner with them (he has had a rough year, health-wise, and we're a bit concerned about it, so we want to see him/them); we're staying at the motel in the retirement community where they live, plan to have breakfast with them on Friday, and return to DW mid-day Friday.

So I won't be able to drop anyone off anywhere Friday morning in Orlando, let alone do something with them, tsk.

She did some of her own research anyway (dd21, the one who's enamored of dolphins) and discovered that there are other dolphin experiences, and she's already talking about going back one day with her boyfriend so they can go to some of the other area non-DW attractions.

The Dolphins in Depth is already paid for; dd isn't a scuba/snorkler fan, never heard her express any interest ...

Wouldn't this be throwing a monkey wrench into the gears at this point? Now idk ...
