Hi Fellow Disney lovers!
My name is Meg and I live close enough to the *magic* to hear the train tooting during the day and watch the fireworks everynight from my home. I visit the various parks practically every single day. I am not a Disney employee, I do not and have never worked for the Disney Company in any way,so I will not be able to offer help with the more technical topics of conversation. I am just a local mom of four who loves to roam about the kingdom as often as possible. I will be more than happy chat with you all!

Nice to *meet* you Meg! How lucky are you, with Mickey right in your backyard??
I'm Marcy, mom of two boys ages 11 and 7, and we live in PA. We (OK, me and my youngest) are major Disney nuts and I often am called upon by friends to help them plan trips. I love doing it, and it helps with my withdrawal when we are on a non-trip year. We are basically on the two-year plan...we try to get down there every 18 months to 2 years. We are planning right now for May of 2007 to celebrate my mom's 60th birthday. It's all she wants, so we've gotta give her that, right? LOL
It'll be nice to have some insider info since you visit so often...you can keep us up-to-date on changes, etc.!

I grew up just outside of Niagara Falls NY and now live just outside of Buffalo!!!
(We were just at Niagara Falls doing the "tourist thing" 3 weeks ago! LOL!)

Thanks for the welcome!
We were in the Magic Kingdom last night for a stroll, we head over pretty often just to walk around the neighborhood. Got a hotdog at Casey's Corner and then headed to Big Thunder and Splash Mountains while everyone else was watching Wishes. We were able to just walk right onto the rides, fun fun! The Monorail to the transportation ticket center was having a problem, so they were having everyone ride the resort rail or the ferry, so the lines were huge! We opted to walk on over to the Contemporary and catch the rail there with no wait.
Weather is nice right now, no afternoon rain yet. One thing I noticed last night was, in the Spectro Magic parade, Peter Pan was a very tiny female who looked scared to death and Ariel had a pretty good Adam's apple going...hmmm.... Well, maybe it is better not to see things too up close and personal, lol!

Hi Marcy!
Your mom sounds like fun!
Are you going to be planning the trip for the whole family?
That could get stressful, but we moms are used to that aren't we?! lol!
I am always the tour guide when we go too, and that is a lot, I bet I could walk through the parks blind folded! Still, I am such a Disney mush head, I walk around humming the songs to myself even, lol!
Have fun planning and let me know if I can offer any help or whatever.
Meg
Ok Meg, you're killing me! Strolling around Main Street? Walking onto Splash Mountain? A dream come true for me. I always feel that we're in such a hurry. Even though we go once a year, it isn't enough for me.
Keep those tips and thoughts coming!

Yeah, I have to admit, that it is really fun to call Main Street our neighborhood. My husband and sons even get their hair cut at the Barber shop in the Magic Kingdom every two weeks and I sit and have a cinnamon roll and watch the parade (infront of the Barber Shop or Fire Station is the best spot IMO) while I wait for them, I have even sent off mail from the post boxes there. It is pretty easy to get right on some rides during the first parade and fireworks show of the night and much less crowded to watch the second performance of each, if you are able and you dont have very young kids with you. We dont really even try to ride the rides during the peak seasons, we just go to people watch and roam about. I agree that while on vacation here, it can feel overwhelming for sure!
Hello Meg! I'm Shelby, a SAHM to three.
