Disneyland questions and intro : )

Hi! I am so happy to have found this board! We are planning a (large) family trip to WDW next May and I have already learned so much just from reading this board. In the process of planning, my DH has had a trip to Anaheim come up for next month, and well, you know where this is going. We have enough skymiles for a ticket for me, so it would just be the 2 of us at Disneyland (we are NOT telling the kids where we are going! lol!). He has a pretty packed schedule, and really only has one day free. Here are my main questions:

1. Do you think we can do both parks in that one day? I had thought we would start out at DL and then go to CA, then back to DL. We are prepared to go non-stop.

2. Is there a shuttle or bus between the 2 parks? I have never been to either and I couldn't find any info on this online. Or is it close enough to walk?

3. Are most of the attractions that are at both WDW and Disneyland the same? Or are there some differences? Worth seeing? We had thought we would skip most of the rides that we will get to do next year at WDW.

Sorry for all the questions! This just came up so fast that I haven't had time to plan it out yet. Thank you in advance!

Yes you can spend time in both parks in one day, you won't get to do everything, but you could probably hit a lot of the major attractions.

Thanks Chel for the great info! That is great to hear about the walk between parks. I found a comparison online and I definitely wouldn't miss Pirates, it said it is a longer ride with more scenes there. : ) I will def. do soarin also. It wasn't at Epcot the last time I was there and I don't think I could resist being that close. ; ) Now off to plan my family trip for May. : )

Wow you are so lucky! I'd have loved loved loved the chance to 'preview' the WDW alone with DH several months ahead! Please make the most of it and post a full report when you can! :)

Thanks! I will definitely post a report. I love taking the kids places and seeing things through their eyes, but sometimes it is nice to do something fun and not so grown up, as a couple! LOL! We were huge Disney fans before we ever had kids, in fact it was the first actual vacation we took together as a married couple! I got a subscription to RideMax and it is really cool so far. I figured this would be a good trial run to see if we want to use it for our trip next year. I just wish it had the option to put in both parks at the same time.

RideMax is a program you download that generates a schedule for you based on the attractions you input and other factors to minimize wait time. I read about it looking through some of the archives on this board. Here is the link:

I will let you know how it works out!
