More questions from a first-timer:
Exactly how crazy are we to be planning a trip at Easter 2007?! We are thinking of arriving the weekend before and leaving on Easter Sunday. I realize this is peak time but is it insane too? Will we spend the whole day waiting in lines or wating for food?
I'd rather go in Oct. or May but this is THE only time we can go this year - and I don't want to wait for 2008!
Interested to hear your Disney Easter experience...
Thanks,
Kate

Hi Kate... we've gone the past few easters. we go for 2 weeks, the week before and the week after easter each year. it's definitely crowded, but it's totally do-able. my main advice is to use the extra magic hours if you're staying on-site for whichever park you're going to. if you have little ones, definitely do the morning extra magic hour for Magic Kingdom... at easter the past few years, magic kingdom has opened to the general public at 8am, but opened for resort guests at 7am. we would get there as close to 7am as we could, and have every ride in the park done by our 11:30am lunch ressie. we'd then either leave the park to go swimming and rest, or a few times dd and I stayed while dh and ds went to swim. When we stayed for the afternoon, we'd then be able to take it really easy, using fast pass for any rides that had lines, snacking, watching shows, shopping, people watching, and really taking it all in while slowly wandering around. no rush, since we had already done every ride at least once. dh and I won't wait in any line longer than about 10 or 15 minutes, and we've never had to doing the parks this way. we haven't found enough in the other parks yet to justify morning extra magic hours for us, since our kids are still little. we just go at opening, hit all important rides and do fast pass for the rest. it depends on your kids ages... for teens, probably evening extra magic hours are more fun for them.
we're definitely going again next easter... so it can't be *that* bad... you just have to have a bit of a plan and you'll be just fine. believe me, if we didn't have to go then, we wouldn't, but for school, we have to. but it really is fine.
any other questions, just ask! have fun planning! Liz :)
Thanks Liz. That puts my mind at ease. I definitely plan to plan this trip out carefully and take advantage of the Magic Hours and Fastpasses.
