We are leaving for our trip a week from Friday. I have not been a very good planner for this trip. I am more of a fly by the seat of your pants kind of person, and iIm sure that is going to be a disadvantage to me on this trip!

We are Disney "virgins" so to speak.. :P I have not been there since I was 10. DH was 3. We stayed at fort wilderness in a camper when I was a kid, so I know nothing about any of the resorts, parking etc.. I also only remember eating one meal a day at the park, and that was lunch (which was cafeteria style then) at the Crystal Palace. Which I assume now is different, and you need ADR's. (When I was a kid, you just walked in, through the line got your lunch and ate. no reservations needed.

So being as "organized" as we are.... :D :::throws head back laughing::: We have not made any ADR's. We do not plan on eating any "formal" meals at the park, no character meals etc... (our kids are too old to appriciate any of this, and we are on a tight budget anyway.) We just want a pleasant meal perhaps a little nicer than a vender (is that even the correct term??) But we'll just have to take what we can get. It would be nice to sit in a restaurant, doesn't have to be anything fancy. We will have 2 adults, 1-15 y.o,1-12 y.o, 1-10 y.o, 1- 9 y.o, and a 1 y.o. (7) if you lost count! :)

We have a kitchen at our timeshare, and we plan on eating breakfast there, going back there for lunch, and then finishing out the day at the park, and having supper at the park. What are our options going to be food wise?? Being off season are we going to have more options? Also what time do the parks close this time of year? (maybe it would make more sense to eat LUNCH at the park, and a late dinner when the park closes??!)

No extended hours as we are staying off sight, and not going to MNSSHP... (too much $ for a family of 7!)

Well, if you stay off site, it's 11.00 a day to park. I would hope they give you a sticker so if you leave and come back you won't have to pay again. Hopefully someone else can answer that.

We knew about the parking fees, not a big deal. I'm pretty sure the $11. is for the day at any and all parks!!

It would have been nice to stay on sight but the time share was free... (a gift) soo.... ;)

The parking fee is per day. You'll get a big tag with the date written in 4 inch numbers in sharpie marker to put on your dash.

If you're not hopping it's better to park at the park you're going to be at. The monorail runs from Epcot to the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) and then there are 2 more monorails that run from the TTC to the MK. One is the 'express' that runs counter clockwise from TTC directly to the MK, the other is the resort line that runs clockwise from TTC to Polynesian to Grand Floridian to MK to Contemporary.

The only parking for MK is at the TTC so you would need to either monorail over or take the ferry boat.

This is still pretty early into the so called off season so the hours are a bit later than when we go in December, but they are shorter than summer, peak and holiday seasons.

Actually, we don't own... My Dad does.

We are staying at Bonnet Creek, which (from the map) looks to be right next to MGM, and right below Epcot.

Nice area, close to everything!!! It is owned by Fairfield resorts, and my dad and his wife have been more than pleased with this company. Everywhere they have stayed,

We don't own through Fairfield, we own through Vacation Charters in PA and are staying at Star Island via the exchange company, Interval

Where is Star Island?

Bonnet Creek would only be available through Fairfield itself, I believe. They have resorts ALL OVER the place.

Sounds like you are going to have a great trip. I know we will return some day with our ds1, but do not know if we will bring along the older ones. Who knows what will be going on in all of our lives at that point. I think it would be a blast
