This will be our first trip to Disney. I have 2 boys 9 and 12 and baby girl 10 months. We are staying offsite at Celebrity resort and spa and rented a car for one week May 9th -15th.
We already have Sea world tickets so there goes one day. My delimma is what parks do we go to? and how much time do we spend? My 12 year old does not like roller costers and 9 year old can take them or leave them. Me and Hubby ....................LOVE THEM!
anyway we were thinking Universal, seems to be more like their speed, but don't know. and what about MK? is it too young for them? Epcot seems good but again how much time do we dedicate? They love Water parks so which one?
Someone please HELP?
also if someone can tell me what DS, DH and IMO mean???? not to up to date with this stuff.
thanks

Hi there,
It's my opinion that nobody is EVER too old for Magic Kingdom! We usually spend 2 days at that park each time we visit WDW. I can't imagine going and missing that park. It *is* WDW to us. :)
Epcot is a close second in terms of favorite parks. If you can spend a day there, I highly recommend it, and I think your older children will be very happy there with SO much to do and learn. My kids aren't huge fans of the World Showcase (the countries), but definitely everything up front in the park. We usually spend 2 days at Epcot in a week trip, too.....and we still don't see everything. We also plan one day at Animal Kingdom, one day at MGM....but we don't visit water parks or non-Disney parks like Sea World and Universal.
Of course, everyone is different....but these are the consistent favorites at any age for my kids.
The abbreviations you asked about:
DH = darling (or maybe darned) husband
DS = darling son
DD = darling daughter
IMO = in my opinion
Have fun planning your trip! It should be lovely weather while you're down in Orlando.

Hi and Welcome!
I agree with everything Laurie posted. We,too, think of the Magic Kingdom as "Disney World"...my boys are almost 12 and almost 8 (both in May) and they LOVE the Magic Kingdom. We usually do 2 days there, 2 days at Epcot, and one day each in the Animal Kingdom and MGM. This time around, we'll be doing a day at Blizzard Beach because we got the water parks for free with our package. And of course, we'll spend a few hours at Downtown Disney. This will be my 7th trip in 13 years, and we've NEVER gone to any non-Disney parks down there. There is so much to do and see right in Disney that we've never had the desire to venture elsewhere.
One thing about Universal,from what I've heard anyway...if your kids aren't big on thrill rides, then you might want to skip it. The rides tend to be more intense there.
Have a great time planning, and if you have any other questions, just ask away!
