I was talking to my neighbor this morning and they are leaving next Sunday for a few days at WDW.

Oh my goodness C, it drives me nuts too! The family of a little boy on T's soccer team last spring went down for SPRING BREAK with the same situation as your neighbors, and they did NOT have a good time. I found out they were going the day they were leaving and tried to give her a few tips, and they did snag one character meal, but the rest was counter service.

Do they have the dining plan? If they do, they really need to make ADRs at some point so they can use all their table service credits. The Not-so-Scary-Halloween-Party will make the MK close at 6 on the nights of the party, I'm thinking it's Tues, Thurs, Fri, and Sat, they may want to either avoid MK those days, or at least be prepared that they'll have to leave early. Can they afford tickets for the party, assuming they can get them? They can buy them at their resort or the MK I think. We went in 2004 and it was fun. I digress. The Plaza restaurant is usually fairly easy to get into, and they may check into a character breakfast or lunch at Hollywood and Vine, their kids are about the right ages for those characters, at least the 3-yo for sure. The other thing they could try is to push the dining button on their resort room phone and ask what is available and go from there to decide. It may not be as low-crowded as it seems it would, especially at Epcot with the Food and Wine Festival going on.

Let us know how their trip goes!

I know what you mean! It drives me nuts when I hear of others going without a plan! I have a good friend from church and they ALWAYS go to Disney without plans. The first time they went, they made their resort ressies the DAY before they left! They never make ADR's or an itinerary. I just don't get it! LOL

They seem to have fun, and see what they want. I know for myself, half the fun is planning and researching!
