The last few months have flown by and now that our trip is less than 2 months away I am starting to obsess with plans.

We will be 4 of us, my husband and I, our 12 year old daughter and my 73 year old mother. My mother has said she will be happy to tag along with us and whatever we decide to do. I'd like to come up with some suggestions of things that she would make this experience really memorable for her that she could choose from. This is the first time she has ever travelled out of Canada, I'd like to dedicate at least one day to something she'd really enjoy.

I'd appreciate any suggestions both within WDW and the Orlando area. I'd love to give her a list of ideas and see her reaction to everything as we talk about it.

Thanks

What kind of things does your mother like? Does she enjoy shows? Is she a thrill seeker? Does she like gardening? people watching? enjoy comedy?

My Mom is still getting over the death of my father (it will be the 2 year anniversary when we are in Florida). She was quite depressed when we asked her to join us on this trip, her arthritis was bothering her to the point where she was complaining she couldn't look after her garden, yard, vacume etc. Immediately after we asked her if she would like to join us on this trip she seemed to perk right up. She re-joined her walking group, mowed her lawn, tended to her garden and even stained her deck. Her mobility isn't fabulous, but I don't see it being a problem.

My Dad was a home body, so they did very little in the way of entertainment. I'm just not sure what she would like to do the most. She does have her garden, but she's not an avid gardener. She keeps saying she's just going to tag along with what we want to do. She used to sew and do a lot of needlework, but cataracts have put a stop to that. When she's home alone she must keep the tv on the country music channel because she is always telling me about country music artists and what they are up to.

Gosh this sounds like I don't know my mother at all doesn't it? I guess what I'm looking for is a list of ideas that I can give her to choose from.

I bet you feel better knowing that Mom is getting back out there, taking part in her life again.
