Getting from Victoria and Alberts to MK

We're staying offsite and have dining reservations at Victoria and Alberts at 6 pm on a Wednesday. MIL will be watching the kids and I'm hoping we can go back to MK after dinner. But we'll be all dressed up, and have the car at the Grand Floridian. I have an idea in my head that someone told me to expect a long walk from GF parking to V&As. Is this true? We'd have to go back to the car to stowe our dressy clothes after we changed, so we'd probably drive to MK, but I also wanted to consider other transporation means. Can we get to MK from GF via the monorail (is it connected, and if so can we take it even if we're not staying on WDW?)

Yes, you can take the monorail to MK from GF, but you will only have short-term parking (2 hours?) at GF, so you really wouldn't be allowed to leave your car at GF while you go to MK.

I don't know where in the GF V&A's is, but it wasn't that long of a walk from the parking area to where you'd catch the monorail.

You would be able to take the monorail because you would have park admission, you just wouldn't be able to leave your car parked at GF (they take your license plate number down when you pull into the parking lot).

Any way you can park at MK, take the monorail to V&A and then after dinner you can just hop on the monorail go back to MK, throw your stuff in a locker? don't know if that makes any sense to do for you?

Given the short term parking issue at GF, this sounds like the perfect solution. Thanks ladies!
