Well my oldest dd (Sarah, 26yo) is getting married in April, so dh and I offered them some DVC points for a mini-moon.

That is a great thought.

Max, remember Chris went to Vero Beach last year - before her WDW stay.

I don't know if that would work. One big thing about staying at DW is ME; neither one of them drives. They claim they are staying 'green' but they can't even rent a car once in a while without a d/l ... And I know they wouldn't want to pay for a shuttle or a cab.

Heck, I was explaining how you can attach a credit card to your KTTWC to Sarah this afternoon, and she didn't exactly come out and say it, but I could sense it in the back of her head, you know how you know your kid? That her thought was, "and who'd be giving us the money to back that up?" ... ::eye roll::

I like many of the suggestions that you've gotten so far. I think AKL is a great non-park visit choice since it's such a wonderful experience regardless of whether you're stepping foot inside a park or not. For a quickie 2 day trip, relaxing by the pool, enjoying the sights of the Savannah and having a great meal or two would be lovely. We had a delicious dinner at Jiko for our anniversary one year.

M'Shel mentioned Lunch with an Imagineer - that's actually at DHS but I'm sure she was thinking of Lunch with an Expert. That takes place at Kidani Village with lunch at Sanaa - we're doing it this coming April. Just looked up the pricing info ($49 per person) and noticed that this is only offered on Wednesdays :( There is also the Sunrise Safari but that is only available to those staying Concierge level at AKL and you need to have park admission :(
Still, I think it's a great resort option for a relaxing mini-moon! :)

I do too, Val.

They can't dine at Jiko - we're putting them on the basic DDP.

That is funny about them not driving.

Hi, M'shel, I just saw your reply here (iV can be weird), thank you for that, I'd love to give them that lunch w/ an expert @ KV but it's on Wednesdays.

Yeah, it bugs me a little that neither of them wants to drive, but they grew up in Philly where we have decent public transit, and for college they lived in NY (even better public transit) and now they're back in Philly so they don't see the need plus they claim to not want to pollute the environment ... ::eye roll::
