Hi, we're making our first trip to Disneyland in April. Have you ladies been there? It seems like a lot of the posts are regarding DisneyWorld. Please let me know, and I'll be back with a few (okay, a lot!) of questions.

Thank you!!

Kristine:)

I'd guess moderately busy, and you may end up with low crowds since it's in between most spring breaks and schools being out.

Funny that this thread is started. DH and I were talking about hitting DL next year.

Are the crowds like at WDW? As in, really busy during the summer and for holiday breaks?

Weather is much more my style during the summer at DL, than WDW. We were thinking about going over 4th of July next year or spring break - which for us is always the week after easter.

And did I read right, if you buy a 3+ hopper you automatically get early entry? You don't have to stay "on site"? We would not be staying on site.

It is funny how different the 2 park styles are.

Thanks for any info.

You get one Early Entry with a 3 day or more park hopper, you get more if you stay on site.

Thanks, Chel!

I think we've decided on The Portofino Hotel since it is so close and we can get a suite there. Six nights there is costing us $1086 compared to the DisneyLand Hotel's one bedroom suite for $4015.

We will be arriving on the Sunday and leaving Saturday morning. We were thinking a good plan would be the 3-day hopper and 1 day at Seaworld (transportation is included in the tickets). Then we would have one day free (any ideas?).

I was also wondering if we should get the 4-day hopper, though. My kids are only 3 & 5 and it's not as though they can handle a full-on 8 hour day at the park. Any thoughts on that?

Thanks again,
Kristine:)

I would get the 4 day since it is not that much more, and it gives you the option of doing the parks in shorter spurts since you have one extra day. You won't feel like you have to power through and cram everything into really long days. There is lots to do in Downtown Disney so plan in some time there too.

I still think the beach would be a fun thing to do also Knotts Berry Farm is close, as are a few mini golf places, but a car is needed.

Sea World is great, but it is about 1 1/2 to 2 hours or so drive from DL, depending on traffic.

Thanks, Debbie!

I didn't realize SeaWorld was that far away. I don't think I want to do 4 hours of driving and spend the day there with two young kids. Maybe we should leave it until the next visit. I will have to look into Knotts Berry Farm since you mentioned it is close! We spent a month on beaches last year in NZ and Australia, so we're not too interested in heading to the beach. Out of interest, though, how close is the ocean?

Any other ideas or suggestions for nearby places? I have a feeling we're going to end up staying close to the hotel and just relax

Thanks so much for your help, Debbie. Through all these posts, I really think I've decided the best way to go is to just hang out and
