Help! I feel so overwelmed!

My family will be going to disney world for the first time this year and I'm in awe over all the information there is. I can't figure out when to go when it will be the least crowded and least expensive. I was thinking May only because we heard about a special going on that month. We were thinking of staying at the All-sports resort, is that a good choice? I was also wondering about the water parks. I don't know when a good time is to go. I have a one year old so I don't want to go when it is really hot. My other two children are ds (10) and dd (7). What would they enjoy? What about the princess tea party, bibbity bobbity boutique, cool dude, and pirate thing I read about on these posts? What are they? My daughter did say she wanted to eat with the princesses, but it would be fun if my son could do something too. We are thinking we are going for 6 nights, 7 days, but I haven't booked anything yet. What things should we definitely see? My two oldest went a couple years ago with grandparents but said they didn't see many characters. Aren't they all over the place? And what about strollers, do they have ones you can rent or should we take ours? Sorry, I have a million questions. I appreciate any advise. I'm overwhelmed by all of this. Thank you,
Christy

Don't worry. DisneyWorld has a way of working itself out, as long as you get the major stuff done - airfare, hotel, and tickets. I suggest you either get a book - they are updated each year. There are numerous to choose from so take an hour or so, get a cup of coffee, and surf amazon or hang out in Barnes & Noble. The book will lay out the least crowded and inexpensive times. I went Nov 30-Dec 5 and this one of those least crowded and inexpensive times. It was also nice with the holiday festivities. But you'll miss the water parks. I ate at Cinderella's Royal Table for breakfast with the princesses. I'm sure she would enjoy that. The Princesses stop by your table, you get a picture with Cinderella, and the girls get a wand and the boys get a sword. There is also a Prince dinner in Epcot I think, if your son is interested. The boutique is nice - she can get her hair done and a princess dress. There are levels of makeovers. I stayed at the Pop Century - another resort like All Stars - it was ok. Rooms were a little small, but you're not in them much anyway and they gave us a crib for our DS. The only reason I note the small room is because our luggage was everywhere. As for the charachters, they are a bit more scheduled now. In the daily park guide, there will be a schedule of when the characters are out and where they will be. Be prepared for a line. We took out own stroller because it was just our three month old. The strollers at Disney are pretty cool because there is room for two kids to sit in it or one or two of them to take a nap.
Breathe deeply and get the book. It lists all the rides, sample itineraries, restaurants and you can start crosiing things off or adding things to your list. We're here for you and can't wait to hear the stories when you come back too.

Welcome to the board!
Welcome to our board! I know how you're feeling - we've all been there! LOL It does feel like there's so much to learn and you're going to forget something. But you have to keep reminding yourself - you're going to Disney! That's a great fun thing! With a little planning, you and your family will have a magical trip.
