Help me get the magic back...

I don't know what has happened to me! Maybe I've been planning our trip too long - but I'm having a hard time getting excited about it. VERY STRANGE for me since I'm the MAIN Disney enthusiast in my household. We're going the 3rd week in October and plan on hitting Sea World before settling in at WL. I had such a great time planning out ADRs, then started getting excited to see what Fall promo might be offered...and waiting....and waiting...and waiting. Yeah - I get that they're kicking off the "million dreams" thing in October. That could be exiting - but I still don't really "get" what it will actually mean to ME. I need a spark! I have been checking my Disney sites every day - but can't actually work up any enthusiasm.
Can anybody pass the fairy dust and get me going again! WE're going in less than 4 months!
Tracie

Hi Tracie..I'm not sure I can kick in the enthusiasm for you right at this point, but just to let you know I went thru the EXACT thing about 2 months before our trip. We went this past June. I planned it for soooo long and had so much fun planning it, that I think I just got in a "burn-out" mode??? I think it may have been the overwhelming feeling I had many times that did it, or possibly the 4 months of planning. This was our first trip so I was definitely going at it blind.
Finally, after all the ADR's had been made, I just told myself to let it go!...don't research anything else...I finally started getting that magic feeling about 2 weeks before our trip. Now I'm boring everyone to tears around me just talking what a fantastic time we had. We had such a magical time, that we are considering DVC...!
It will come, believe me :)
Have fun!!!!

I was the same way a few weeks ago. We are going the last week in September. All of a sudden I was dreading going when I started to think about the heat. But then we saw Cars, my 2 DS's suddenly started watching The Incredibles again and we are going to Pirates. My attitude started to up swing.
Maybe if you surround yourself with things Disney you will get excited again. I also pulled out pictures of our last trip. That seemed to help too.
Good Luck!

I blame it on Disney. Yep I said it. Now that you can make your ADR 180 days/6 months before your vactaion you're in this huge rush mode to get everything done as soon as you book since most people only book 6-9 mo in advance. So you have everything done
I "sort of" get like that as my trip approaches. I spend A LOT of time planning and researching and revising itineraries. Then, as the trip approaches, I feel like it's over. It's not that I lose the spark or that I'm not excited. My problem is that I feel like I've already been (through planning) and that there is nothing to look forward to. Then when we actually arrive, I have a different problem. I dread each day as it passes, because I know that our departure day will be coming fast. I feel like such a nut!! On our departure day, I even feel jealous as I see happy people checking in and we have to check out! My dh gets so annoyed with me (he's happy-go-lucky and things like that just don't phase him!)
I hope your spark comes back soon! Maybe give yourself a break from the planning/ checking your boards. You know what they say about absence making the heart grow fonder??
