Ok where is my info I have 5 boys 16,15,14,6,2yrs 5mos at the time of vacation. DH and I will need 2 rooms, connecting and park hopper tickets. We will be vacationing in early may 2008. I have asked about an 8 day hopper, no dining and no ins. We will see what she has to say about that. Here is the email I got this morning. Since there are 7 of us she went with a grand gathering, 7 day park hopper and dining with ins. What do you guys think?

Allison

I have priced your grand gathering for you at Disney and this is what I have, if I need to change around anything and reprice just let me know I will be glad to.

I just wanted to throw in that with 5 boys and the ages that they are you will really get your money's worth purchasing either of the dining plans.

Thanks.
1)I agree, There is *only* 7 people going. I don't know where she got the *extra * 2 people from.
2)I didn't get an amount for the 2nd room. That's what made me think the quote was for both rooms.
3)I understand about the "junior" pricing, but why offer it? I don't understand that.
4) In 2005 I planned a trip for my DH, DSS, DSS GF, DS 13,12,11,3 and myself. 3 rooms. Rooms came out to about 1400 for 6 nights, Tickets came out to about 1700. Thats a total of 3100. Why if I have 2 less adults, and 1 less room is my total about the same booking thru AAA? I realize that prices go up but not as much as 1 whole room and 2 whole 5 day park hoppers. Thats about 1000 difference. WHY? I realize that AAA gives about 10-35% off rack room charges and a discount on Tix, but where is my savings. I do want to go for 5-6 days and the kids want to go for longer, but I just can't justify going to WDW for 7-8 days if the Tix prices are only $10-15 more and rooms are only $79-99 more for an extra 2 nights, but they want to charge me lots more. Thanks for all your help. I will call today and see. Thanks,
Allison

The junior pricing is really kind of a gimmick. It's silly to even put it out there when it doesn't truely exsist in the first place. now - if there was

No we went May 1-6 and we had MYW tickets + hopping. We paid around $80 per room, we got the Florida discount because DSS was a FL resident. I think I paid 250 up front and 1250 when we got there. Maybe 1500 total? And there were only 7 adults and 1 child. Either way I really dont think that the price has risen so dramatically to justify paying about $150-250 MORE this year WITH a AAA discount. My Question is WHERE IS THE DISCOUNT? Last time I went with a discount tix place I got thru Mousesavers.com and I called Disney direct and got the Florida rate.

Thanks. I would take DSS again, but he's 27 and still expects us to pay for everything. 2 years ago, he graduated from College and was commissioned in the Marine Corps as a 2nd LT.
We thought it was a nice thing to do to take him and his gf to Disney as a Graduation present. This time he isn't graduating from anything, so I don't want to pay for him.

LOL - I have a BIL like that. Well worse because he's 27, has no GED, no steady job and somehow has managed to bum off my FIL and SMIL.

If he wants to sponsor you guys and pay his own way you guys could stay at Shades of Green across from the Polynesian. Based on his rank you'd pay $111 per night per room for deluxe accomidations (as opposed to $99 standard or $111 preferred plus tax)
