...as it didn't get any responses down at the "Mousellaneous" folder?

For our one adult night out DH and I were thinking of the Boardwalk (Spoodles, then Jellyrolls) while DS9 spends some quality time with the arcade games etc at a Kids' Club...:)
Then we found out that Jellyrolls is one of the few establishments in WDW that still allows smoking...so it's out for us :(
Our night out is a Sunday (it's DHs 54th bday!) so Atlantic Dance is closed. I was trying to get used to the idea that we'd just have a leisurely dinner and stroll the Boardwalk,etc...but I'd actually really like to go dancing since this may be one of the only chances ever to get my DH to do that (and on his bday!)
Then I heard of 8Track at PI (70's/80's music!) and that sounds PERFECT! Last time (in 2000) when DH and I went to PI we didn't get into it at the Adventurer's Club (which I'd been looking forward to...I think we probably went too early...and we were tired...it also just seemed to be oriented to a younger, hipper crowd, even then!) and the night was pretty much a bust.Needless to say I don't want that to happen again! (Which is partly why we were going to try the Boardwalk this time. But not if it involves second hand smoke!)
So what do you all think? Can you recommend Pleasure Island (and particularly 8 track and hopefully any not-too-pricey-but-nice places for dinner) to two over-tired (especially by the night we go, which will be like our 6th day at the World!! LOL) middle-aged people??

I don't have any suggestions for dancing. NOBODY wants to see me and DH trying to dance!! LOL!!! But, I do have an adult entertainment option. DH and I saw Cirque de Sole last time we were at Disney. We loved it! If you have never seen something like this, it is fully worth the money. :) Sorry I don't have any other suggestions, hopefully someone will. I fully understand about the second hand smoke. I HATE to smell it and really HATE to breathe it!! I thought all of Disney was smoke free???? I guess they have exceptions :(

Good Luck!!

It's been a long time since I've been dancing at Pleasure Island, but 8-Traks was always one of my favorites.

Thanks, Shay, I appreciate your input and trust your judgement! :)
I'm still considering both PI and the Boardwalk. I guess we'll see! One more question though: Where would it be convenient to leave my son while on PI? Currently we've reserved the Sandcastle Club at the Beach Resort on the Boardwalk. I think all kids clubs close at midnight so if we end up going to PI instead, it would probably be better to get the closest kids' club possible to PI so as to maximize the evening LOL He's 9 so I figured a kids club would be better than just having him go to sleep with an in-room babysitter (although he could easily crash after an intense week with a probable component of some sleep deprivation, LOL) Any ideas or recommendations? The other thing with the Boardwalk is that since it's obviously open to kids (except for places I mentioned in the OP, like Jellyrolls which we're avoiding due to smoke and Atlantic Dance which would be closed) I think I would feel more guilty by leaving him behind than if we were at a "true" adults-only place, but who knows?!

DH and I aren't into dancing all that much, but we did enjoy just walking around PI to people watch! LOL We also caught one of the shows at the comedy club, and that was very entertaining. We're planning on going there again for sure!
