hopper or not??

Hi there,
We are going to WDW Jan20 - 31 '07. I am looking at the prices of the tickets for the parks and I just realized that it would be cheaper to buy a 10 day pass ($218) than a 6 day hopper pass ($244)...this is from a discount site. Is there any disadvantage to buying the regular pass...not the hopper? I have figured out our itinerary and we will visit the parks 8 different times in fice days.

Thanks
Pam

it is my understanding that you can't use a non hopper pass in 2 parks on the same day, even if you are willing to "GIve up" an extra day's admission.

You would have to pay for a seperate ticket in order to do that. The $40 hopper fee is well worth it IMHO even if you only plan on 2 parks in the same day ONCE your entire stay. I like the freedom of not being "Stuck" in any one park, as well as being able to hop to another park ofter AK closes, for example, or take full advantage of EMH, then move to a less busy park later, or watch the afternoon parade at one park, then the night show at a different park. Or have a meal where you WANT, and not have to plan on being in that park ALL day. Or "pop in" to MK since you were eating at Chef Mickey's anyway and you just want to grab a mickey bar, or decide, last minute that you should hop over to EPCOT to see Illuminations.

BUt you will know your family's vacation plans better than anyone! FOr us (Dh, myslefm, DD 5 1/2, DD 4 and DS 14 months) it was SO worth it!

ditto to everything Elena said.

I don't like being "stuck" either. the park hoppers give you so much more flexibility.

it's so worth it.

That is true about the regular tickets; you can only use one per day.

Another definite vote for the park hopper. Also ditto to you not being able to use two days worth of admission from the same ticket to get in two parks on the same day. The computers that scan the tickets are set up to only allow each ticket to be used once a day unless it has the hopper option.

Hope this helps!

Hi, Pam!

I just got back from DW 2 weeks ago (today!). I went with my MIL/FIL (who paid for the whole trip). We did NOT have hopper tickets and wish we had. First of all, it limited the itinerary. They had reservations made for dinner each night at one of the parks so we HAD to go to that park during the day.

I am already planning my next trip (DH comes home from a 1 year tour to Afghanistan around Feb. 25) and I am planning a one week trip in March.

I am DEFINITELY buying the hopper option!!!

Good luck to you!!

Thank-you all for the responses. I did not know that you couldn't use 2 days worth of tickets the same day. We will get the hopper passes for sure.

Stephanie....we are staying off site....the Nickelodeon Hotel.

Everyone is correct that you can not use 2 single days on the same pass at two different parks on the same day. To go to more than one park in a single day you must have the hopper option.

What I didn't see mentioned is that you can upgrade your ticket to include the park hopper option on your trip if you don't have it and decide that you do want it. Just go to Guest Relations and tell them you would like to add hopping. Price is the same $45 per ticket plus tax. You can also add the no expiration at any point before they expire (14 days after first use). The price you pay will be based on the original purchase, not the days left.

Would you mind to post a review of the Nickelodeon Hotel after your trip? I haven't seen a lot about it, but was thinking about a couple days at Universal on a future trip and the boys might like it then.

Have a great time!
