How to get to Expedition Everest?

I had a question, how do you get to Expedition Everest from the front gate at Animal Kingdom? We will be going in a 13 days and I know this ride is new and popular. So I'm going to make sure we get there when the park opens the day we have scheduled to go to AK but I'm curious which is the fastest way to the ride? I've looked at an AK map and it seems that there is a path to get to it going the DinoLand direction, is that the best way to get there? Just thought I would ask, since I know some of you have just gotten back from there. :)

Thanks,

Bren

We were just checking that out last night! Well, talking about how daddy is going to run ahead and fast pass all of us and then we will all catch up. DH is a fast walker so he is the designated one for this trip.

I am hoping Sonya or other recent visitors know the shortest way. I was there when they were building it and I know it is in Asia, but other than that I am not totally sure. I don't have an updated map.

I am hoping between EMH late and early hours we will hit it at least twice.

Do they have baby swap for that ride? We can do that too!

Yes, it is slightly faster going through DInoLand, but there is no straight shot to get there LOL! Stay right when you get to Discovery Island (can't remember if you can cut through character landing or not) then stay LEFT after you cross the bridge to Dinoland. You should be able to see it the rest of the walk.

Oh, and we ate at FLame Tree, if you go around ALL the way to the back (3rd seating area) you not only get to sit on the water, you can watch EE from there!

There are 3 ways to get there. The easiest and quickest is the most direct though it's still a hike. Go through the Oasis, over the bridge and bear right around Discovery Island towards Asia. (This is where you could split off) Stay towards Asia and go all the way back, and I do mean all the way. We took the dinoland way around after we rode Expedition Everest and it's the same distance, but if you're not familiar with the area once you get to the show building you could get confused and think you've gone the wrong way. the way you don't want to go is around to the left of the Tree of Life and all the way around the really long way. :-)

Thanks for the responses! :) Yes we have yet to designate a fast pass person so I'll have to talk to my husband about it. We'll have to do the baby swap for this too, so I hope they offer it. :) I'm so excited!! Only 13 days to go!!! :) Now I just need to pack, and I'm going to need all 13 days for that!

FYI, they do have a baby swap, but it's not like some others where you get to go straight from the ride's exit back to the front of the line (like Space Mountain).

In the past we have always gotten a ticket at the entrance to go back through the fast pass for baby swap. This was at RNR, ToT, and a few others.

Space mountain we have done both ways, through exit and fast pass lane. The exit way was done during MNSSHP from what I remember. This was back in 2004-2005.

Bren,

We leave 9/24 early in the am. I am going to start packing this week. We live in WI and the weather is cooling off, so I can start to pack some of the summer stuff for the trip.

Maybe our DH's will be running to EE together!

Sarah,
How funny, I was thinking the same thing about packing! We live in Western Michigan and the weather here is probably the same as where you live. :) We leave noonish on the 25th.

Our husbands may encounter each other on the way to EE! :)

Space Mountain is doing it through the exit now (or at least they were a couple weeks ago).

Sending the DH's for the fast passes made me laugh, because a few months ago this is exactly what I would have planned to do - now however after my DH's knee and shoulder injury he's the slowest member of the pack and I don't really think he will be back up to full speed by January!!

My DD would be a LOT faster than me but I can hardly send an 8 year old flying through AK in search of fast passes - so it looks like it will be me - I think I'd better camp out there from the night before LOL!
