How much of a park in one day?
| Fri, 09-29-2006 - 10:10pm |
I know some of you have said you go to the park in the morning, rest for a bit and then return later in the day, so how much of that park do you actually get done in the morning? can you go on a majority of things? (we're going begining of may) For example with Epcot if you didn't do the countries could you do the front part (whatever it's called) in the morning and hit most of the things? or are you only going on 2-3 things?? Any good examples?

Sorry can't be of any help there, we've never done the parks that way. It would make me crazy to set out for the day then return to the resort half-way through then go back out again lol!
However my DD was 6 the first time we went and no longer needed to nap or anything and we do take lots of mini breaks - snacks, drinks, shows etc while we are in a park.

We usually get to the park at or before opening, then do all the major things in the morning. On our first MK morning, we like to do breakfast at the Crystal Palace around 8 or 8:05, to be done by the time the park opens. As soon as the park opens, we hit Fantasyland first and usually we get all of Fantasyland (except Snow White Adventure, skip that), and the Buzz Lightyear ride done, and we're out of that part before 10:30. You really can get alot done early in the morning if you have a good plan and know what you want to do, instead of standing around looking at the map trying to decide what you're going to do next. I don't mean a very strict, "if we aren't at attraction X by this specific minute the trip is a bust" type plan, just a general knowledge of what you want to do and know about where things are so you can move around easier.
At Epcot, our rough plan is to arrive at/before opening, and start with Future World, of course. We can usually get through most of FW before lunch and our break. Last year we did start with Soarin', and then I'm thinking Test Track, then the not-as-popular things, The last two years, we've gone in the fall, after school was back in, and not had a lot of crowds. That's something else to consider.
MGM is a little trickier because of the set show times, instead of running continuously, they might only be at certain times of the day. I don't remember how we did things there, but I think we started with Playhouse Disney's first show of the day. I have yet to see Beauty and the Beast, hopefully I can make it to that one in May!
Hope this helps! We usually try to do the "must-do's" in the morning and get them out of the way, that way we're sure we get to do them.

I agree with Steph; that's how we usually do it too.
We sort of set a rough schedule as well.
