Clara and I were looking through my Passporter and she stopped when she came to Snow White's Scary Adventure.

When I was a kid Snow White (and Mr. Toad) used to scare me silly. There were many times we went to Disneyland that I wouldn't go on it. And if I did I usually kept my eyes shut the whole time, lol. What scared me the most in Snow White was the witch popping out when I didn't expect it. But I'm a real wimp.

On our last trip in October, my dd (7 at the time, but turned 8 in November) wanted to ride it.

Dd rode it when she was 3 and won't ride it again. She loves Dinosaur, POC, even will tolerate HM, but not Snow White! So, I would warn them that the witch will jump out at them, but it's only a ride and if they are expecting her, maybe they will do OK. Personally, I think they should have kept Mr. Toad and turned Snow White into Pooh. It just doesn't seem like a great attraction to me. Even if dd wasn't scared of it, we'd probably skip it and do Philharmagic one more time in it's place.

What I didn't like, and still don't, was when things popped out at me when I didn't expect them. As I remember the ride is kind of dark (meaning not a lot of lights). On the other hand I LOVED Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland.

You have to know your kids and how they feel about this kind of thing. If one or two "scary" moments won't bother them, then go for it.

We went on it the last time we were there and my 5 year old did not mind it at all.

Hi Val! First, i didn't know your dd's names were Sara and Clara! That is soooo cute! I LOVE those names. You must always just put DD(age) for them. Anyway... i think we did snow white for the first time last year, when Erin was 5½ and Ryan was almost 4. I told them it had scary and dark parts and what they were, and we always make a game (in any ride - we do it in winnie the pooh, peter pan) to "yell" at the villian. this really makes the kids not scared. i'll tell them the witch is coming so they're ready, and we'll all yell "BAD WITCH!, BE NICE" or something like that and point our fingers at her. as silly as it is, it seriously works.

so, the dinosaur ride wasn't really scary??? i really want to go on it, but i was waiting for the kids to be older. maybe i can talk them into it for next trip :)

Hmm.. we must have seriously missed something here lol! We did Snow White when we went in 2004 (DD would have been 6)and I don't remember anything particularly scary about it - in fact I barely remember it all lol!

Granted DD is a bit of a daredevil but I usually jump out of my skin when things pop up unexpectedly and I truly don't remember doing that. Have to check it out next time!

Hey, Liz! Thanks about the names but I always feel the need to explain - I never wanted to be one of those parents that have rhyming names for the kids LOL

LOL Carole, maybe the Witch didn't "pop out" at you? I think I read somewhere that she's just there, not popping out at you - that would definitely make a difference with my kids. You guys are making me feel like perhaps we should give it a whirl and see!
