how to work these plans?

When we went in June (me, DD 1, DS 10 and my sister) I decided not to get the dining plan mainly because I have had Lap-Band surgery in Jan, my sister had gastric bipass. But we almost wish we had because by the end of our 8 day trip we was tired of counter service and basically eating the same thing every day. My kids and myself are joining my best friend and her family in Feb and I wont know until the last minute if DH can join us or not (most likely not) they want to do the meal plan.

Okay so my dilemma, I can only eat a very small amount of food (on a good day 6 oz) so the meal plan will give me way to much. So I can let them do the meal plan and my family could go elsewhere like a CS and meet up later. But I know we will get tired of the CS like last time but it would probably save us a ton of money. Although my son is a hearty eater and I would end up getting him 2 meals at the CS stations so I think he would benefit from the dining plan seeing how he is considered an adult. I think I would feel guilty wasting so much food on my end even though my 2 year old can share with me she does not eat a whole lot.

Should I just say screw it get the plan let the other 7 people share my appetizer or not order it and eat what I can of my entrée and not order dessert?

If DH does go is it possible to give him my dining plan we just buy the extra park tickets then when we go eat I can order a entrée or bowl of soup or something? They wouldn’t let me share with them would they? I guess doing that would be dishonest and I don’t want any bad karma at Disney! Does anyone know if Disney itself would give me any kind of discount with my circumstances?

Owe went ahead and made our ADR’s yesterday and we got everything we wanted! Of course after all that hard work planning it would be hard for us to back out and have to eat cold hamburgers while everyone else got steaks!

And another quick question when we went this summer we had hopper passes we actually only used them once and looking at our schedule we might only need them once or twice. I know the more ticket days you buy the cheaper it is and it would only cost 12 bucks more for my son and myself to buy 2 extra park days. Instead of the 80 or so

I have never done the dining plan. So, I will let an expert jump in on that one. I went with my family in June and had the same idea about buying extra tickets instead of the hopper. Fortunately, I posted a question here and learned that it won't work. Once you scan your ticket at one park, you can not enter any other park that same day unless you have the park hopper option. HTH. Happy Planning :)

the 1 park 1 day makes sense. and thank you for checking into the dining plan for me even if they allowed me to get the childs plan and meals i could still share that with my toddler. or possibly give it to her and order me a small entree? thanks again.

Are you going to be in one room or two?
