I just booked our trip to Disney tonight... I am so excited and can hardly wait. We're splurging this time and going with AKL... we have a pool view room, but not a savannah--I think this will be fine, based on what I heard on getting to see the animals, and frankly, we won't spend a huge amount of time at the resort.

We have five day tickets with PH and the Water Parks option... Joey has been talking about Blizzard Beach a LOT lately, so I figured it couldn't hurt and I don't know if there is a promotion going on or not, but I think it was cheaper with the WaterParks than w/o it... what is the More in the Water Parks and More option?

We'll be there for my Mom's birthday and I'm just tickled. I put that piece of information in the reservations tonight, but will call and make sure its on our file...

How do birthdays work... they get the button from where? What kind of special treatment does one get?

Oh, I'm so excited!

Julie,
I'm excited for you! You are going to have a great time! When we celebrated my Dh's 40th in WDW, he got a birthday button from Town Hall in the MK. He was wished a happy birthday by all the CM's who took notice of his button. We also had a taste of the Disney magic when a CM at the Tomorrowland Speedway took notice of his button, and told us to follow her. She took us right up to the front of the line, and we were the next ones to ride! We bypassed the wait on line which was over an hour! It was great!! We headed over to Epcot for dinner at Teppanyaki, and they brought him a piece of cake with a candle, and a chef's hat. It was fun! I also told the front desk at ASMo when we checked in that it was his birthday, and they asked me who his favorite character was. On his birthday, we came back to a few balloons attached to an autographed photo of Mickey Mouse which had been placed in our room.

We're heading down again in May for my Mom's 60th, and I'm just starting to figure out what I want to do for her. I'm considering ordering a cake for when we're at Le Cellier for dinner, but they have good desserts, so I'm not sure I really want to get a cake on top of that. I've also been toying with having a t-shirt design made that says something like "Celebrating my 60th birthday with a few friends", with a picture of the "fab 5" on it. I've seen some designs that people on the "dis boards" have made, and I'm really tempted to have this done for my Mom.

We're also celebrating my DS Matthew's 8th birthday while we're down there, so I've noted his birthday on our reservation as well. We'll be going to the 50's Prime Time for his dinner, and I'm toying with the t-shirt idea for him too (but I think in a Mickey Pirate theme).

AKL sounds like a great choice! Hopefully someday, we'll get there! LOL

Hey, Julie! Congrats on booking your trip!! Sounds like it's going to be fun!!

I found this info on AllEars regarding the Water Park Fun & More Option:

"What are these Plus Visits (now called Water Park Fun & More) I see included on some passes?

It depends on what ticket they are on. If it is a plus visit (option) from one of the old pre-2005 Park Hopper Plus tickets, it is one valid admission for one person to your choice of any one of the following: Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach, Pleasure Island or Wide World of Sports. If it is a WPF&M visit from one of the Magic Your Way tickets, it includes DisneyQuest as well as the places listed for the PHP plus options.

Think of it as two tickets with different privileges on one card. Everything expires 14 days after first use unless you have the no-expire option. Using a Water Park Fun & More option does not use up a major park day from your pass. But unlike the major park admissions on these tickets, you can only visit one place per WPF&M visit. No hopping is allowed on these visits even if you purchased the Park Hopper option for your MYW ticket. Unlike the major park admissions, you are allowed to visit multiple WPF&M locations on any one day but if you do, you will use up one WPF&M option for each place you visit. Leaving and returning to the same park on the same day does not use an extra entry as readmissions are always allowed at the same park on any day.

WPF&M visits may or may not be used on the same days as you go to the major parks. If you use a WPF&M visit on one day and do not go to a major park, you do not use up one of your major park admissions.

Your WPF&M visits are completely independent of your major park visits. Example: You can go to a water park only on day one (1 WPF&M visit), then do a major park on day two (1 theme park admission) followed by a major park (1 theme park admission) and a Pleasure Island visit (1 WPF&M visit) on day three. At the end of day three you will have used up two major park admissions and two WPF&M visits. But if on day four you went to TL in the morning, DQ in the afternoon, and club hopping at PI in the evening you would have used three additional WPF&M entries in the same day.

Do I have to use my WPF&M options in different places or can I go back to a place twice?

You can use them all at the same venue if you so desire. You have two limitations. One is that you can only use it for one person. You cannot have a group of three use three options off your one pass. The second one is that you will use a separate Plus option for EACH water park, PI, WWoS or DQ admission you do on the same day. You are allowed to go to one, leave and return to the same one on a given day but you cannot park hop between the WPF&M venues like you can with the major park days."

Hope that helped some.
