Ideas for Christmas card photo ops ??
| Tue, 06-06-2006 - 6:31am |
This is our first trip to Disney World (This THURS!) Does any one have any ideas where to look for a great photo op that we could use for our Christmas cards??
TIA!!
Dina

It's hard to beat a picture with the castle as a backdrop! It's lovely. I like our pictures where we've come at it from the side, too.
If you can get a good family photo with Mickey, that's cute for a card.
Those two are very obvious though!
I made notecards with a picture from the metal Mickey "scupture" outside the Contemporary resort - my kids are inside the ears and standing in front. I found a picture of this on-line.

(sorry about the weird address, but I was having trouble trying to put a link in this message! Substitute periods for the DOTs above, of course. :) )
I like the water and trees in the background. Even if you aren't staying at the Contemporary, it's easy to hop off the monorail and explore! We took our picture during the day, but these lights are cool if you can get a good picture with them.
The only other idea I have is to take a picture of the family in front of your favorite ride or attraction. I have a thing for the Haunted Mansion, so I'm particularly fond of any family photo with that building as the backdrop.
Have a WONDERFUL trip! I hope it is perfect for you.

We took our own family photos in front of the castle, and with Mickey Mouse at the AK. (we didn't use Photopass for those). I just picked the one that turned out the best, and got copies made on Snapfish. I bought the white cardstock frame cards, and stamped them with a Christmas theme, and slid the photo in. That was this past Christmas, and the first time we used a Disney photo for our Christmas cards!

at DTD, there's a xmas scene your family can stand in... right when you get off the bus and enter dtd (the entrance at the end by the rainforest cafe).
or i always think an xmas in the tropics theme is cute... if you had santa hats, everyone could wear them at the pool or on one of the beaches.
of course, the castle, like the others have posted, is always a great backdrop. also, up on the railroad station at the end of main street... with the castle being in the background and all of main street behind you is a great scene too.
if you wanted to do a 'fun' card, you could do a few smaller scenes if you have the computer program to cut and paste photos (like the front of the card divided into 4 and a different pic in each square). you could do 'future world' with everyone in a future world type of hat (you don't have to buy the hats), then a fantasyland one, frontierland and adventureland. Or one from each park w/ a significant something in the pic to represent the park (like the icons). it might be hard to get the right size pic to do that... just thoughts rambling around my head.
have a great trip!!!!!!!!
