Hey, I'm a teacher and if it were MY 9 year old, I'd take her to Disney this fall!! Think about it in terms of savings: If not now, next time she goes she'll pay as an adult for dining, park tickets, everything! And yes, it's true that teachers don't appreciate kids losing a week of school, but UNLESS she's academically behind (and that's a big unless!) I wouldn't worry too much. Just let the teacher know WELL in advance about the Disney trip...don't tell her about the January one, yet (heh). Then when you come back from Disney and your daughter is doing well in class etc, nearing winter break...you can tell the teacher about the next trip!
Anywhoo that's what *I* would do! I'd go with it!!! Good luck! :)

Took my dd out two years in a row for Disney and she didn't miss a thing! She missed 10 days last year due to fmily trips. This year we are going again in Sept, although we are homeschooling now so it won't make a difference!

Take her now before you have to pay for her at adult rates! My older one is 12 and it is much more expensive to go now!

We are taking our 9 year old grandson this October, so I hope it would be too much of a hassle to let him go. I think he will learn a lot on his trip. What grade do you teach? He will be in 3rd grade this Fall.
