Well, being from NJ, I don't think it's fair to say "obnoxious" -- that's New Yorkers...just kidding.

I'm going to tell Val you're calling her names!!!!! I'm gonna tell!!!! :-P

Typically that group does get all hyped up about the smallest things. You really have to weed through a lot of stuff to get the good information. And I say that as a reader and occasional poster over there.

It appers that most of the schools in New Jersey have that week off of school. What better time to go to Disney? Yes it will be slightly more crowded than the week following it. But on all info website it's still listed as low crowds.

My husband and I are planning our first trip to WDW without the kids. We booked a room at Port Orleans - Riverside in early November. Is this during "Jersey Week?" If so, does that make the parks a lot more crowded?

Hi Tara!

"Jersey Week" usually coincides with Veteran's Day. This year, November 9 and 10, the Thursday and Friday preceding the holiday, and Saturday the 11th (the actual holiday), are the only days expected to be busier due to visitors from New Jersey. The parks will be moderately busy, but nothing compared to the "biggies" like Spring Break, Easter, 4th of July, Thanksgiving or Christmas. Try to do the bulk of your touring earlier that week, use Fastpass and Extra Magic Hour, and you should be fine.

Have a great time planning!

Here are Anita's Annual Holiday Crowd Predictions for 2006 and early 2007:

Early November will be very manageable with moderate crowds, even with the Food and Wine Festival in full swing. Heading into mid-November, crowds will begin to pick up considerably during New Jersey Week (11/4 - 11/12) and ABC Super Soap Weekend (11/11 - 11/12). The following week, crowds will temporarily drop back to moderate, but beginning on 11/18, crowds will begin to rise again and the parks will be very, very busy until the Sunday after Thanksgiving, although not as busy as Christmas week. Crowds will then drop back to moderate levels for a couple of weeks.

One year, we were at WDW for Jersey week. I can't say it was one of my favorite weeks at WDW.....but not horrible. I'd pick it over the very hot and very busy summer months any day! I am just addicted to early December at this point, and I'm ruined for all other times of the year.

The worst problem we had was people pushing and shoving my kids out of the way for a front row parade spot....when we had been sitting and waiting for a very long time. This happens a lot, but we noticed that it was particularly bad during Jersey week. Parents just shoving their kids up front at the last minute. Could have just been our year though, or we were having bad luck. Now, my husband and I just sit up front with our kids, letting other little ones take our place nicely if they are behind us when the parade starts. You definitely can't leave little ones up front by themselves to defend their turf!

Have a wonderful and safe trip!

This happens to any park when school is out. Yes it will be more crowded, yes there is a chance more teens will be there. Will it ruin your trip, NO. Now I have never been to WDW maybe one day, but I go to DL several times a year and have been going since I was 5 maybe younger. Living in AZ and now in Nor CA it is just a quick trip. I have been there on weekends even the Thursday-Friday before when school (in the LA area)
