My girlfriend is taking her 5 and 7 year old girls for their first trip in 2012.

Hey M'Shel! While I don't know for sure (or I would have my own forecasting website! LOL), I would think there would be little difference between the two especially since Easter is earlier in the month.

Touringplans.com is showing them almost the same. Maybe a little lower the last week in April (mainly 6/7's vs7/8's the next week.) either way it will be a little busy but doesn't look like peak crowds.

I agree with the others that it probably doesn't matter much. If I were to make the choice, I'd probably go with the earlier week in the hopes that it might be cooler...lol.

Oh, the only other thing I recall from when we went first week of May (but that was almost 9 years ago!!) is that during our week, the MK closed early due to Grad Nights.

I love the Passporter books!!! They give a lot of interesting information especially for first timers...things like the WDW transportation travel times between each resort and each park. The resort info is really detailed...few pages for each resort on property. Also rates each attration as E ticket to A ticket and breaks down who likes the ride (or doesn't) and why with many toddler, kid, tween and teen tips for the individual attractions. There are tons of other things I like but those are my faves that stand out from the other books.

Does it have the planning sheets?

I agree with Melissa - I love my Passporter. I think it's especially helpful for a newbie and one who is in planning mode. As Melissa said, there's lots of reviews of attractions and restaurants. Their maps are great. I also like all the details on the resorts, whether you're trying to decide on where to stay or perhaps you're going to be visiting one for a meal, the info comes in handy. There are planning worksheets, too.
My favorite thing about the Passporter is the Passpockets. I love filling them out as the details of my trip get booked. If you have the deluxe version, it is in a 3 ring binder so I remove the pocket for the day and put it in my backpack. As the trip goes on, I keep receipts, maps and other momentos inside the pockets. Lots of space for journaling and keeping notes - great keepsake :)

M'Shel - I know how you feel - helping someone plan is great. Unfortunately, people have not been telling me about their Disney trips til after the fact :(

And you need to work on your family for another Disney trip - remember: if Momma's not happy, ain't no one happy LOL

LOL Something else we share - Cake Boss! We love Buddy! Sounds like a great combo and a cool plan!

You're son is so lucky! Clara almost chose a high school based on their senior trip to WDW (as cool as that is, I had to step in and remind her that we go to WDW every year anyway LOL).
And very cool about a DL trip! Would so love to go there - I was so bummed that we didn't go last summer for the D23 Expo. I really thought we could make it work but it didn't. So I'll live vicariously through you!
