Leaving in 4 days!!!

I can't believe our trip is this close, it really snuck up on us! Okay, you're going to laugh... remember how this all started because we never got to meet Stitch last year, so I thought that on our way back from spring break at my parents house, we would stop by Ohana for a quick character breakfast?

Well, in typical "me" fashion, it has grown little by little from one meal, to one night, to two nights, and maybe a park day, then a second one... and so on... and has now blossomed into a full Disney vacation, lol! We are now staying 5 nights at AKL with DH, then when he leaves we are spending two nights at AoA with my parents.

We won't actually have THAT many park days, just a day at AK and Epcot, then Lily and I are planning to spend a morning at DHS while my parents keep Owen. We may also do a waterpark, depending on the weather, and we are still planning on a couple of days at the Kennedy Space Center. I'm sure DtD will fit in there somewhere too Wink

So the only park we won't be going to is MK, which seems odd, but we are saving that for December (right before Christmas, I know it will be a madhouse!) But that means that by the end of the year, we will have used 4 days of our 10 day NE tickets (well DH and DS will have only used 3) I bought them with the intent that they would last us 3-4 years... so we should probably slow down a little, ha!

I'm actually a little shocked that DH is seeming okay with all of this. I mean, he likes Disney and all, but is usually very "strict" about sticking to our 1 vacation/year policy... But I think he is feeling guilty about having spent so much time and money on his new hobby in the last year that he feels like he can't say "no" to mine. I did cave and cancel the rental car, at least for the first part of the trip (We will have to have it to go to KSC) I thought he was on board with the idea of driving to the parks, but suddenly declared that he was a "mass transit kind of guy", and would feel guilty driving if there were busses availible. Whatever, if that what it takes to keep him happy, I can compromise Smile

For much of the past month, we have been consumed with DDs swim meets (it was the end of the season, leading up to the state championships so it was CRAZY). We haven't had time to even think about anything else. When Lily realized this last weekend that we were leaving in less than a week, she got SOOOO excited! She is going to bounce out of her skin this week. Unfortunately, we both have 3.5 school days left, and I have to be here Thursday night for PT conferences Cry We are leaving Friday morning, both missing school that day. In fairness, I had already booked the DVC rental before I knew that I would be working or what her school schedule would be. I hope they go fast... but not TOO fast because I have a LOT left to do!!!

Oh, and I almost forgot, because of all the construction at the Poly, and wanting to have enough time at the parks and AKL, we aren't even doing the breakfast at Ohana (the thing that started it all). So we still won't get to meet Stitch. Maybe that gives me an excuse for the next trip Tongue Out

Your trip sounds like it will be fantastic! I can not wait to hear about it!  I think Epcot and AK with a morning at HS thrown in sounds perfect. And how fun that you are already making plans for December. I hve always wanted to do a split stay but DH is against the idea of unpacking and packing in the middle of a trip so it has yet to happen... And lol on not seeing Stitch still!

Have a wonderful trip!!!

How funny.   I think I'd avoid Stitch so you can plan another trip!  :)

I'm so happy to see your post.  I keep checking over here hoping someone has a report, pics, etc. to share.   Now I know we have your's to look forward to!!

Well we are still in FL, visiting my parents, but done with the Disney part of the trip :( Overall, we had a lot of fun. Hit some bumps along the way, most of them caused by a temperamental 3 year old, but a lot of good times too. I'm hoping to do a full trip report, though it might take some time to get organized.

We LOVED Animal Kingdom Lodge! I think it is my new favorite, something that could finally compare to the Poly. We also stayed a couple of nights at AoA. It was cute, but not something I feel the need to do again unless we really need to extra space.

Owen got sick (strep throat) near the end. He is doing better, but I can feel myself fighting it now. We are flying back tomorrow. Hoping I can at least stay well until we get home!

I am not surprised you fell in love with AKL!!! We did too!!! Did you stay in Jambo House or Kidani Village? I was sorry to hear Owen got sick. Did the rest of you manage to escape it?

We were in Jambo. Kidani had a nice savannah area, but it was so far from everything that I don't think I would have liked staying there as much.

I started getting sick Saturday night, it was going to be really bad since we were flying home on Sunday. So my dad gave me some antibiotics (he's a doctor, though not THAT kind of doctor, but still had a healthy supply of random meds, including the same antibiotic I always get for strep). I'm not usually a fan of self-medicating like that, but I've had strep enough times to know that it was that, and if I'd had to wait until Sunday to get treated, I would have had a really miserable trip home, if I could have made it all all. Lily was feeling sick last night, but seemed mostly better this morning, so hopefully we are through the worst of it!
