Mailing Pkg's to your resort beforehand?

Hi once again!! We leave in exactly 1 week WDW...and am frantically trying to figure out what to pack, what NOT to pack. We are flying down and the thought of lugging around extra items (snack foods, pull-up diapers etc) is already weighing me down. LOL...

Has any one ever mailed a package with various items (in "your attention") to your resort before you arrive? I think I remember reading about this at one time, somewhere....

Thanks again!

I never have, but am thinking about doing it for our September trip.

I was told that you should send it with your resort name, your name and your confirmation number clearly marked on the package.

If you are going to be there in 1 week I would think you should mail it ASAP.

If you do it, report back on what happened.

Well, I went to the post office this afternoon, only to find out it would cost almost $14. I then realized that I should just use the Priority Mail "FLAT RATE" box...I can't remember exactly how much it is, but definitely under $9, no matter the weight or destination. With all the Ebay selling I've done, I'm not sure why I didn't think of it to begin with! She said even if I mail it out tomorrow (Friday), that it will be there no later than Tuesday, more than likely Monday. Priority Mail is 2-3 days. I was able to cram just about everything that I had in the first box into the smaller "Flat Rate" box.
I also spoke with the front desk at POR, and he said I just need my name (guest), c/o Port Orleans Riverside, and address-they would then hold it in a secured room until we arrive. I hope it all goes well...I'll let you know!!

I just confirmed today with POR front desk that my package has arrived. They have it documented in my res, so it will be ready for pick up when we arrive.
YEAH!

What kinds of things did you mail to yourself that you couldn't just pack?

I read somewhere that people have done this, to save on the hassle of bringing it along...it wouldn't be a big deal if we were driving, but we are flying (DH, myself and our 3 little ones)...this is the kid's first airplane trip, so we will have our hands full I am sure. Also, because I know how I pack for a 2 day trip to see family, I know we will have our bags completely full to capacity (even our checked bags). LOL....
the things I mailed were:

Pull-ups, swim diapers, juice boxes, applesauce, fruit snacks, 3 little bowls of instant oatmeal-ready for the microwave-peel off the top and add water and/or milk, granola bars.
The juice boxes and applesauce are heavy obviously when you have that much, so just to have that less amount of weight is worth it to me. :)
