MK- "the haircut thing"

Ok...I have some questions about the barber shop/haircut thing that goes on in MK. I think someone recently did that with their sons. (Was it Tina?) Anyway, is it as magical for girls as it is for boys? Do you make a reservation in advance?

Thanks so much!

I was me! You cannot make advance reservations. I have hear lunch time is a good time to go though and that's actually when we ended up there(no waiting at all).

I would think it would be just as cute for girls, they could still put the pixie dust all over their hair!

No reservations. My son got a great buzz cut from a wonderful, funny gentelman. My Daughter received an awful trim from a lady on a Monday. I wish I could remember her name, but she always works Mondays. DD bangs are about 1.5" above her eyebrows and uneven. As well she cut more then just the bangs into the bangs. Some of the hair she cut was 24" long and will take forever to grow back.

She trimed it, put it in a ponytail, sprayed it with hair spray and threw pixie dust on it.

The little girl before us didn't get her hair cut, just her brother did but she got pixie dust anyways. In the future either DS or DH will get a cut and DD will just get pixie dust.

Cindy, who is counting the days until school photos in the hopes that DD bangs will grow.

Cindy, don't you hate that? No matter how many times I say...trim the bangs just above the eyebrows...when they dry, they will really draw up...almost everytime one of my girls comes out looking like Frankenstein. :-)

Thanks for the tip and if you remember the name, pass it on. Looks like we'll be at MK on a Tuesday, Thursday, and maybe Wednesday and Saturday, too!

I wonder if I can convince my hubby to get his cut there...he's so particular, probably not. Guess I could...I'm about due for my once every 18 month cut!!lol

both my son & daughter got their hair cut there this past July.... My daughter got a very good above the shoulder cut from the lady, & my son got a spiky short haircut from the guy ( who was featured in the Disney Magazine a couple issues ago)

I thought that they turned out really well. The guy even painted a Mickey head on the back of my son's head, then painted the top of his head red, white & blue ( by request) & covered it with pixie dust.

My daughter had her adorable haircut put into a little ponytail, put some pink paint on that & then pixie dust. But it was all in fun.

This is our second time there, & will always go back if the kids want to.

It was a long wait, as it was crowded that day, but worth it.

Hope this helps.

Oh, & it makes for a great photo!

And a couple characters came in while we were there too.(that fox guy with a green hat & a big bear, not sure of their names)

Barb, thanks so much for the input!! I also saw that article in the Dinsye magazine, or otherwise, I don't think we would have known! Glad to hear your daughter had a great experience.

This is news to me. I never heard of any haircut thing at Magic Kingdom. Where was it? It's too late now anyway, but it's funny b/c I had wanted to get my dd's hair cut there if I saw anyplace, but I didn't. I never heard of a haircut at MK before or during our trip. :(

Val, it's right on main street in the MK. I think it might be fun. I'm really considering it but need to figure out if my prissy little girls can handle getting their hair done at MK. Sounds silly, but sometimes something will flip a switch and I don't want it to cause a negative!! On the other hand, I don't want them to have their hearts set on it because if it is busy, then we won't wait for it.
