Wow! I can't believe how close our trip is!!! Normally I have a case of anxiety about packing at this point in the game, but I've been more worried about Clara getting (and staying) well.

It looks good, wish we were going too!

We all loved Boma I hope you like it too.

The only thing that made my jaw drop was the 7:30 am ADR at O'Hana's - I would for sure need to be packing my sense of humour (plus a couple of spares) for that one LOL! - we are SO not a morning family!!!

LOL I know! Alan's definitely a morning person and the girls definitely have more get-up-and-go when we're at Disney than at home (although honestly, they still have more get-up-and-go in the early hours than I do even at home!). I was worried about that time b/c it would mean leaving for the Poly super-early.

I finally had a chance to read this.... it's been crazy around here with Girl Scout cookies and life and Kait was throwing up the other night and ... I know you understand. I hope Clara stays well between now and getting home. OK, on to reviews.

The early morning after a late night might be rough, but you have the afternoon nice and easy so that will make up for it.

On the 25th, you might want to leave the Studios early, take a break, grab lunch on the way to AK, or at AK so you can see some of the park before the parade and heading out to AKL for your dinner ADR. The parade is at 4, and depending on where you're at it could very well be close to park closing by the time you make it to the buses (with everyone else). It really depends on what else you want to do in AK before leaving for the day as to where you should grab a spot for the parade. You could easily meander out at park closing and grab an AKL bus and make your ADR with plenty of time, but the way the parade route is you could find yourself trapped. If you plan on leaving right after the parade to explore more at AKL I suggest getting a spot near Island Mercantile, so you can just zip around the corner (or through the store) when the end of the parade passes you by and through the Oasis and out you go. If you want to hit camp Minnie Mickey, grab a spot near the DVC presentation and Lilo & Stitch meet and greet, when the parade passes you can do an about face and head in that direction. Same holds true for the opposite side if you want to head into Dinoland. The parade takes about half an hour to make it's whole loop from Africa around the Tree of Life passing CMM, Dinoland, then Asia before turning back into Africa, so if you wanted you could even go onto the safari when the parade starts and then come off the safari to a front row seat as the parade wraps back around. Then you'd be in a prime location if you wanted to head out to Rafiki's Planet Watch before leaving the park, but you'd only have half an hour out there.

When did they change Minnie to Mickey at Ohana?

Personally I'd head to Epcot Sunday am, but that's just a relaxing park for our family.

Thanks for the AK tips, Sonya! I'm amazed that you know that you can tell me to walk through a store or go here and wind up there! I have no sense of direction but you would think with all the studying I do of the Disney park maps, I'd have a better idea of what is where. Nope! LOL That's Alan's department - he can take us to anywhere in the parks; I like to tease him that it's his "closet Disney" coming out!

We really want to see the AK parade and we won't be able to stay that late on the day we do AK's morning EMH. So we figured even if all we get to do at AK on 25th is the parade, that's okay. But I was wondering if we'd have some time to play too. If not, we'll just make our way to AKL and explore the resort.

I don't know if I should blush or laugh. :-) I was reading your post thinking 'Oh, they must have come off the train (in Africa across from Tusker House) when the parade was starting and then taken a left towards Asia and wahla met the parade halfway around again.

Glad Kait's okay now - those 24 hour (or less!) bugs stop you in your tracks!

ROFL about how you knew just where we were (and I still don't know where that is! LOL) but Alan is appreciative of your talents! :)

Now that Tree of Life - that's another thing! To me, it just seems to sprout up in the most unusual places! LOL LIke we see it, then we don't and then all of a sudden there it is again!! I have a great closeup shot of the animals but I believed it was from a zoom - I've never gotten that close to it to see where ITTBAB is.

Val! I hadn't realized your trip was so soon!! i loved reading your itinerary, and now i should probably post mine... it does help to 'walk yourself through it' (and it's fun to share!)

i'm so excited for you guys! i'm crossing my fingers for you all for no sickies! it's been a horrible winter for us too with all of us getting sick a few times (even dh and i, which is very unusual!) I was hoping winter was over, but it doesn't seem it (at least here in NY)... we'll be in the 40's for another few weeks. at least you'll be getting out of it soon! :)

have you started packing? i still have a few weeks left and i'm making all my 'lists'. were you able to buy sandles, etc, for the girls? i've been looking for the kids and myself and there isn't much out yet.

i hope you have a magical trip!! can't wait to read your trip report too!

Liz :)

Hey Liz!! *waving* I can't call it packing - it's more like piling! All on the guest room bed! Whenever I buy something or think of something else, I just add it to the pile!

I haven't looked specifically for sandals (we use sneakers in the parks and then beach

Sounds like you have a great trip planned!! Are you flying out of Newark NJ?? What kind of airfare did you get and on what carrier?? We are close enough to either go through Newark or Philadelphia...we usually do Philly, but I've wondered if Newark might be cheaper?

Anyway, have fun, and do try to eat at Tusker House...the food is fantastic! I love their veggie sandwich!!

Enjoy!
