We are going to wdw on June 12-17.Our flight is due to land aroun 10 in the morning and we re due to take off at 8 sat. night.I have three sons(8,6,4).My question is how should we spread our time at the parks, and what attractions would be of interest for boys. This seems to be overwhelming and I don't know what to do first. We are staying at the pop century resort.I wish we had more time at wdw,but this is all we could fit in since my husband has no vacation time due to new job.I just want my sons to have a blast with the time we have. Let's see, where to begin. It looks like you'll have 4-1/2 days. Do you know which park you're going to on which day? If not, I'd start there. Look at the EMH hours and decide based on that. Since you're staying onsite, you may want to take advantage of these. For instance, if MK early EMH are on Tuesday, you may want to do that park then. Of course this assumes that you're morning people! If not, stay away from whatever park has early morning EMH. Conversely, if you like to stay up late, choose the park that has evening EMH.
Another thing to consider. Do you have park hoppers? If so, you can do early EMH at one park, and late EMH at the other.
Have you made any ADRs? If not, you should call immediately. I'm sure a lot of restaurants are booked, but you may luck out. I would make at least 1 character meal ADR. For boys, I'd choose something like Chef Mickey's (Contemporary resort), Liberty Tree Tavern (MK), Garden Grill (Epcot) or Crystal Palace (MK). Crystal Palace has the Pooh characters; the other ones have the standards like Mickey, Goofy, Pluto, etc.
My ds just turned 8, and he's been 6 times. My dd will be 6 next month, and she's been 5 times. Here is what they like. At MK: Buzz Lightyear, everything in Fantasyland, Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Big Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain (one is afraid of heights), Tom Sawyer Island, railroad, Goofy's Barnstormer, Haunted Mansion (tolerated), TTA (love it for some reason!). These are the biggest hits. What they hate is Stitch. Tolerated Space Mountain, but ds doesn't like the dark (also doesn't like to go upside down, but this doesn't). SpectroMagic is a must see; truly awesome! Wishes is great, too.
AK: Festival of the Lion King, Flights of Wonder (loved it; 1st time this year), Kali River Rapids, Safari, Boneyard, It's Tough to be a Bug, . Dh and I love the Maharaja Jungle trek and the Pangani trail. We all love watching the performers throughout each area. They loved playing in the water near the safari.
Studios: Stunt Show (new favorite!), playground, Indiana Jones, Beauty & the Beast, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Muppet Vision. We did Fantasmic last year and enjoyed it.
Epcot is for kids! Mine love it! They would never forgive us if we didn't take them here. In fact, we spend more time here than in any other park. Favorites: Test Track, Soarin' (AWESOME!!!), Living with the Land, Turtle Talk with Crush (great!), Honey I Shrunk the Audience, all of the entertainers in all of the countries, boat ride in Mexico and Norway, circle vision in Canada.
Now that you're feeling overwhelmed, I apologize! I'm sure this is way too much info, but I can't seem to help myself. Here's what I'd do first: plan which park on which day. Then, make ADRs. Then plan what major attractions you want to do. Let your kids, especially the 8 yo, look online to decide what sounds great to him. Then have the mindset that you absolutely cannot do it all. If you go with that in mind, you won't be disappointed.
HTH!
