Need a stroller, is this a wagon?

OK, I keep going back and forth and just can't decide. We are going to Disney for the week of Halloween this year. My kids will be 5 1/2 and just turned 4 so we will definitely need a stroller of some sort. The oldest has already outgrown all the strollers we have (46 lbs) and the little man isn't far behind her LOL! We had assumed that we would just rent but I just checked rental prices and am rethinking it. We are heading into summer and that means tons of trips to the zoo, parks and Dollywood so getting something that the two of them could ride in would be helpful anyway. Currently, we just use a Step 2 wagon when we go to the zoo but obviously that would never work at WDW LOL!
I keep seeing this Fisher Price Kid Utility Vehicle.

The Disney website says no wagons and I can totally see why. But this thing fits within their stroller size limit (41x29) and would compact down if we needed it to. Would they consider it a wagon just because it pulls behind?

AND if this is considered a wagon, is there a double stroller of some sort that could carry 100lbs of kids... and still be comparable to the cost of renting one for the week?

Many thanks for any help!!

Yeah, I figured it was the pull behind thing *sigh* I'm sure one of us would pull and the other would walk beside but I guess I can still see their point. I'd still like to know if it is officially forbidden or not ;-)

I keep looking at the sit-n-stand but all the ones I am seeing only go up to 45lbs per kid. Am I missing one somewhere?

Nice to see you over here too =)

Unfortunately that would not be allowed.

I would rent a double at the parks. Get the length of stay rental. You will save a couple bucks.

Your kids are older. They can hop and and out of the Disney stroller nicely. AND you won't have to fold it to go on the bus. The kids can walk after they have been riding in the park all day.

I think when we went and purchased the whole week it was $100? I could be off on that amount.

I am dreading going this year. DS8 was too big to ride back in September, but we made him ride so there was no whine. This trip he will really be too big. He is too tall not too heavy. Oh well.

I agree w/ Sonya! We already had a stroller that was small & lightweight w/ a basket & cup holder and a shade.

You can buy handle extenders and clips that connect the 2 strollers at a relatively fair price at baby stores. The clips that connect the strollers and 2 strollers end up cheaper than a decent double.

We use this - lascal kiddy board - it works great and attaches to the stroller that you already have.

I ordered mine through a catalog years ago - it's not cheap, but it does the trick and it's much more convenient than having to lug around a double stroller (we had a few years where we had to attach it to the double stroller!) It won't work if both of your kids are going to be napping in the strollers, but it doesn't sound like that's the case for you.

I've never been a fan of renting in the parks because I love having the stroller at the airport and the resorts (and DTD). Plus waiting in that line at the beginning and end of the day drives me crazy - but that's just me!

Not nessecarily. We have clips that hook our two umbrella strollers together. So 1 person could push or 2 people could push, and when CMs moved our strollers they moved them together. Yes, the handles are low on standard umbrellas - even for shorter people. They do sell extensions and now make some with adjustable handles, but that's more $.

I personally prefer my double for my girls, but my dh prefers the two umbrellas.

We have also learned early on in trips to park in one central location in a land and walk from there. My kids also generally hate their strollers and don't use it often at home. The little ones are 2 & 3. My oldest is 8 and also stopped using a stroller at 2 and except for her first trip at 2 has never had a stroller at Disney. (and even then we barely used it because it was easier to just park it)

Options are always good.

We've done that before, like in Fantasyland, and I was always paranoid...lol. What if they realized it was parked for a while...would they decide it was abandoned? I know, ridiculous..lol.

We were just talking about this stroller on the Children's Gear and Toys board which prompted me to come post this here LOL! I thought the members here might know about Disney restrictions better.

The kids will be 5 and 4 when we go so they'll need to ride. The older one likes to walk most places but I know how she is and with all that Disney to oogle, she'll want to ride and look around ;-) The younger one could still nap in one though if we took a long day, especially if it was hot.
