Need suggestions for my Christmas DW tri

Hi again,

I have 9 years old twins, a 5 year old dd, and a 16 month old dd and need suggestions on which parks to go to so everyone is happy.

Dh wants to do Epcot (he does everytime we go), cause he's hooked on the Norweigian House food. The twins are letting me know that they are too old for the Mickey/Minnie/Winnie the Pooh thing; it's too babyish for them. My 5 year old is still into the princess/fantasy stuff, and the 16 month old is neutral at this point, LOL.

What parks can I do to make everyone happy? I was think of doing Universal Studio/Island of Adventures for the twins; Epcot for the dh; MGM for the 5 year old. I was real happy with MGM when we went a few years back. I would like to do Disney World itself except the twins think they are too big to go. AAUUGGHH! Everyone has an opinion.

Or should I just leave them all at home and just go with my 16 month old? :D Just kidding...

Any suggestions?

Carolyn

well first of all you know you have tomake yourself happy, we have never been to universal but from what i have read there are probably alot of rides that the twins will be to little to go on evern though they think they are big kids now, if i were you i would concetrate on Disney, as th eprevious post said there are alot of rides that the twins will enjoy, buzz light years, space mountain, pirates of the carribean, splash mountain thunder mountain, to name a few, i know there are more, look through the folder from each park, Mgm has the tower of terror, rock and roll a coaseter and lots more too, epcot has fast tracks, and the new space ride and there is alot to do for the twins at innoventions, i think going to the disney and universal is way to much in one trip. All my kids are different ages with my grandkids they'ss be ages ranging from 25, two 12yearolds 2 14 olds my twin gransonds 6 and evryone knows there is some stuff they will like an some stuff they have to just see for the other kids, oh i forgot something in Mk there is a show everyone loved last timeits near the castle 3D show i fogot the name though oh there is also the haunted mansion the twins should like. good luck littlebitt

Hi there - from another mom of twins! I have identical 10 year old girls. Also an 11 year old son and a 2 year old little girl. We've been with the kids at all ages.

Have the 9 year olds been to WDW recently? They may *think* they are too old for MK, but I bet they'd probably realize that is not the case once they get into that park. It is BY FAR the favorite for all of my kids, even as recently as last year.......and MGM is their least favorite (although I really enjoy that park). They all love Epcot, but not the World Showcase area as much as the cool stuff up front. We can spend hours and hours in one building at Epcot. AK is iffy - good for half a day with us. Although this year, Everest might change our minds.

How many days will you be in the parks? We just try to hit them all.....except we've never been to Universal. Nobody in my family is interested. We are Disney nuts and could probably spend months in a row there and be perfectly happy. It's a sickness (but a good one!). Can you plan a bit of time at each of the parks?

My husband is a MK fan and would be happy if we spent all of our time at that one park. He is a little kid in a full-sized body once we get to Orlando. I have always loved World Showcase at Epcot, and the kids just have to suffer through for a bit while I enjoy myself there.

Good luck! I think everyone will be happy, no matter how you work it out.....just so there is a little compromise. Challenging with 4 kids, I know. :)

Umm, you can get too old for Disney World? We go to Disneyland every year and the kids never get tired of it. We are taking the kids to Disney World in a few weeks and they are beside themselves. DD is a 5th grader and all the kids in her class think she's the luckiest kid in the world at the moment. I suspect your boys will be just fine once they get there. Sometimes they have to put on a show at this age. I'd probably lecture them beforehand that if they plan on moping through the Magic Kingdom they can just stay home. Let them look at the maps and pick out some rides they'd like. They have that scary Alien one there and lots of others that are a far cry from Winnie-the-Pooh.

Don't let them dictate your trip. You are paying for it. They should feel lucky to go! I've never been to Universal in Florida but there was almost nothing for my kids to do when they were younger at the one here in California. They may like it at 9 but the 5 and 16m kids will be left out.
