Well I have been looking on the Disney web site and it is just so overwhelming. I have some questions that I hope you guys can answer. First is there a book or something that I can get to help me with all the planing.
We are wanting to stay at a moderate resort but I am not sure which is the best. We will be going for 7 days. There are 4 of us. What do you recommend. We will probably go in early May so how busy is it then. Should we go another time. Will the water parks be open then or will it still be to cold?
Last we can't decide what year to go. My kids are 2 and 1 now. Do we go when they are 4 and 3 or do we wait and go when they are 5 and 4. Any help you have on anything will be greatly appreciated. Neither myself nor my DH has ever been so we no nothing about it.

Welcome!
There are several planning books out there, I've used Frommers (2004 edition) and my favourite so far is the Passporter which is a really good planning guide and journal combo. I also have WDW for Kids by Kids which I bought for my DD last year when she was 7. Obviously your kids aren't going to be able to read it for themselves yet (well I wouldn't think so anyway lol!) but it does give a good kids perspective on things and rates rides and attractions in terms of fun, scariness etc.
It can all be a bit overwhelming I know, but there are people here with a ealth of knowledge and personal experience and theyw ill be only too happy to answer any questions and help when they can.
As for the moderate resorts, we've only stayed at Coronado Springs and we loved it - I know lots of people have different opinions on it but for us it was perfect, my DD loved the main pool and the quiet pool, I loved the hot tub! we liked the rooms and the landscaping etc. We would definitely stay there again.
I have good friends who stayed at Caribbean resort when their girls were 6 (twins)and they really liked it there too

We just came home from Port Orleans Riverside. We loved it. We were right by a bus stop which made it very convenient.
As for the age, well we took our children the first time when they were 7,5,and 2. We had a lot of fun. Your experiences at Disney World will change with the age of your children. I don't think you should let their ages keep you away. You also have the advantage at this point that both of your little ones are still "free". Go ahead have fun. :)
We're taking our family for the first time this coming August.
I just went in October with my 4 year old and 6month old. It was THE ideal timing- my 4 year old was in absolute AWE of disney magic. My 6 month old was happy to sleep in the bjorn carrier so life was good. We stayed at the Carribean Beach resort and while it was a great place, it's probably better for bigger kids. They have something like 7 pools, playgrounds and my big draw was this huge food court- great for days that you have tired kids and can't face another sit down restaurant meal. However, it was on a bus system and there were so many buildings, you'd have to wait for buses even to get to the food court. Aside from that, it was a great resort.
Personally I'd wait for 4 and 3 but that's just me- it might be easier but it depends on what you want to get out of it. If it's going to be your only trip for a while, save it. If you'll be back, factor in a few pool and rest days and you should be fun. GL and have fun!
