I was a little saddened to read this tip in this weeks allears newsletter. We never did the search (kids just aren't old enough) but I always planned to one day. from Jennifer: We were at WDW last week and took the first raft over to Tom Sawyer Island to look for paintbrushes, and after a futile search, I asked the cast member if they had been found, and he said that they had discontinued the paintbrushes since the start of the Sorcerer's of the Magic Kingdom game. We wish we would have known that before going over and running all over the island!

That's sad! But what is the Sorcerer's of the Magic Kingdom game?

This is from all ears...Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom, an "immersive role-playing adventure," officialy opened February 2012. Merlin the magician recruits guests as apprentice sorcerers who will attempt to subdue the "villains" armed only with cards that have mystical powers. Participants fight with villains such as Cruella de Vil, Yzma, and Kronk at special locations throughout the park. Playing the game is included as part of park admission.

Sourcerers is like Kim Possible, but you do it with playing cards, not a cell phone. We played it on our last trip (for which I still haven't managed a trip report!).

As excited as I am about the Sorcerers of the MK game (hoping to check it out next week), I was very disappointed to hear about the paintbrushes being removed from TSI. We finally got lucky on last yr's trip - we got there early and we were all on a mission and Alan found one. We were thrilled to get FPs to both BTMRR and Splash Mtn. I don't understand what one game has to do with the other - once the paintbrushes are found, that's it for the rest of the day. However, I believe you can play the Sorcerer's game all day long. I don't believe FPs are being given out for the new game either so I'm wondering how they figure one should replace the other :(

I was wondering the same thing Val and originally thought it may be a budget thing. Replace the TSI CM with the Sorcerer's of the MK CM. But, that doesn't seem make sense either because TSI still needs some one there when it's open. Cool that you got two FP's though!!! I knew that was what they gave out but didn't know it was 2! Maybe when Sorcer's of the MK isn't brand new they will bring the paintbrushes back. Have a wonderful trip next week!!!!
