Oh geez! Another "maybe" trip dilemma...

OK. I've posted before (more than once) about wanting to try to get to WDW in Nov for MVMCP; right now, my thought is 4 days in November, with 3 park days and one trip to MVMCP. I had another brainstorm today (what can I say? I sit on hold on the phone too long at work!), that since the party is the main reason for this Nov trip, what about the P&P Party if they do it again next August? I asked DH, and he said it would have to be either or, not both.

My options are the Thursday-Monday trip in November this fall, MVMCP, bare bones trip due to cost and not a lot of time to save (we're going for 9 days this May/June), -OR- another longer than a week trip in August next year, regardless of the P&P availability, with hoppers, the dining plan, the whole thing; probably for at least 8 nighs, maybe 9, depending on DH work schedule. If we go in November, we definitely will not be going back until 2009, no matter how much begging, pleading or threatening I do. DH wants to go to the beach next year, no way around it. If we go next August, we will still go to the beach in June.

What do you think? I'm leaning towards August, because it's a lot longer, and that's the only way I get to go next year; we will be going twice this year, so the November trip would be a third trip in less than a year. I'd love to see the Christmas decorations though.

I see your dilemma! This is probably no help, but what about if you go next November(08). I know you don't know your kids school schedule right now, but if you already know next year's schedule then it stands to reason that you should find out 2008 schedule by this time next year. Then you can decide if you will be able to take a trip in Nov, or if the schedule doesn't work out you can book for August. I know for us planners that March-August isn't a long time to plan, but it is no less time than you would have for planning a trip for this August. If it does work out schedule wise and you get to go in Nov 08, you will get to do all the new stuff since your last trip and still get to see Christmas decorations! Plus, it spreads out your trips a little so you don't have to wait 2 years between trips and you should have plenty of time to save the money for it. It is a win, win situation :)

As you see, I could not decide for you. So, I just came up with a third option! No need to thank me for adding to your dilemma, it is the least I can do, LOL.

Good luck! My parents just bought a camper and I have been trying to figure out how to talk DH into a Ft Wilderness trip next year. He has been firm so far and says no more Disney trips until we get our house built (after which we won't be able to afford Disney, LOL). I havne't given up hope. He usually takes several snow boarding trips per year without me or the kids. So, I point out how I "deserve" a trip too, ROFL.

Well, it's (at least temporarily, lol) decided. We're going to skip November and MVMCP (AGAIN), and go for August 2008. DH thinks 3 trips from Feb to Nov is too many, and if we go in Nov, we only get a few days (3 parks days), and we won't go back until 2009. We're going to go next August and hope for another P&P Party at that time, but we'll go for our standard 8 nights. I'd rather go earlier in the summer (i.e., sooner!), but DH gets his beach trip in June 2008.

At least I'll have something else to be planning for.

Well now, it's easier for me to agree with you that the longer August trip is the way to go LOL

I'm coming into this way late, but I'm going to just agree that as hard as it is to give up the holiday decorations and Christmas Party, I'd go for the longer trip too.

Chiming in here with my opinion! I think that these "extra" parties have proven so popular that even though the P&PP probably won't be going on next summer, something else will take its place...and you'll be all ready for it!
