Oh My, Disney Overload??

Just got done making our reservations for next year (decided to go ahead and call since they aren't coming out online for two more weeks!), and after linking them to MDE, realized that it looks a little ridiculous! Surprised

We currently have FOUR trips on the books, yikes!! But to be fair, they are all short, and involve trips to see my family as well. (Actually the one in July next year will probably get trimmed by a couple of days, just not sure on which end since we won't know Lily's swim meet schedule for the summer until next spring.) So really, they are all between 2-4 nights.

This October, we are making a quick weekend trip to see my parents (while DH is away on a canyoneering trip in Utah) and I talked them into doing MNSSHP! I haven't told the kids about that part (they know we are staying at POR, just not that we are doing anything park-related) It's not so much that I want to surpise them, b/c that's not really my thing, I just know how fickle and unpredictable my parents can be, and I wouldn't put it past them to back out at the last minute (and my sister, who lives with them, is due to have her second baby a few weeks prior, making the situation more precarious that normal) So just in case... I'd rather not have two epically disappointed kids on my hands when we go. But hopefully it works out. Lily has already ordered a Madeline Hatter costume for Halloween (from the Ever After High series, she's the daughter of Mad Hatter) and it would be perfect to wear to the party!

And then we have our pre-Christmas trip at WL that's been planned for quite a while, got all of our ADRs made for that one. We will be spending a full day at MK, plus breakfast at Chef Mickeys, Cirque du Soliel, Kid's Pirate Cruise, and a manicure/spa afternoon for DD and I. And another visit to Kennedy Space Center. Going to be an action-packed few days, lol!

For next year... I had wanted to do a waterpark/camping trip in May, but because of other travel plans, it turned out that we needed to go during the week of 4th of July. Too hot for camping, so I suggested a Value resort instead, and Dh actually seemed okay with it! I briefly considered staying offsite when, a few days later, he made a couple of comments suggesting that he was "Disney-ed out", but when I mentioned that idea he got all upset and said that he was looking forward to trying out one of the All-Stars (this is DH who has always vehemently opposed any value-resort) Go figure! But we'll likely stick to our waterpark-only plan, since it's bound to be too toasty for much else.

And then, we decided to push the camping trip back to Thanksgiving week - I'll risk cold over hot. No idea what else we'll do on that trip, but the Fort Wilderness campsite ressie is made, anyway.

And then really thinking ahead, we might be doing a short cruise in 2016, probably in March. DH has always been anti-cruise, but I suggested the idea of a short Disney cruise followed by a few days at Universal, and he didn't protest. The talk immediately turned to Universal, but he didn't seem opposed to the cruise part at least. So we'll see.

Guess I better get to work on some new tickers, lol! Laughing

I think if you enjoy something and can swing it - why not?  What great memories you are creating for your children!!  And how wonderful for us that live vicariously through others!   :)

Sounds like a great year!!! I think you guys will love MNSSHP. Too bad DH won't be along...from what you've said I'm sure he would love the F&W festival. Can't wait to hear about your trips! Both POR and WL are at the top of my list of resorts so I'm interested to hear what you think of those. I hope you post about the Pirates Cruise! I am hoping that if the kids enjoy the kids clubs on the cruise, we will have them do the Pirate Cruise the next time we are in WDW.  The quick trips seem like a great way to get a Disney fix in, especially where you go to Florida so often.  Happy Planning!

I think they all sound great!  I would almost prefer short, frequent trips than 1 long trip a year.  I would also love to take a trip and not do parks, but I don't see that happening anytime soon LOL!  Meredith and I are trying to talk Ken and Mitchel in to coming with us this fall, but so far, no luck.  I really need to make our ressies; I was waiting to see if they offered any room discounts, but they haven't yet.  She starts HS this year, so she can't miss too much school.  She is also trying out for volleyball and will probably make JV.  I need to make to check the schedule for it as well.

Anyway, you will have a great time.  Deb has stayed at FT Wilderness, I believe.  It sounds like loads of fun without going to a park.  I sure hope the Halloween party works out!  So cute about the costume.  I don't know that series but sounds neat Smile

We have stayed at FW.   I'd say it is probably our favorite. . .with AKL a close 2nd at this point.     The cabins give a lot of elbow room, and you see deer, etc. on your way to catch buses.    If you are there at holiday time the people who camp in RV's go all out decorating their area.    And my kids enjoyed just riding round in a golf cart looking at the decorations, etc.    It has a nice pool/slide too.

It offers easy access to the movie night with Chip & Dale, going to see the ponies, etc.    LOL, I was thinking our next stay would be at AKL as John has never been there, but now I'm back to wanting FW!  :)

Yeah I think the shorter trips are actually going to work well for us. It was fun to do the week-long vacation a few times, but now that we have BTDT, I like the idea of just getting quick fixes when we can. We tend to play so hard anyway, that after a few days we are physically and emotionall drained, lol! And if we are going to fly to FL a couple times a year anyway, might as well make use of the airfare.

Plus it lets me try out more resorts, possibly my true secret agenda Wink ! There are still so many on my list... Contemporary and Old Key West are probably at the top, and maybe Coronado Springs or Boardwalk too. Would love to get back to AKL or Poly sometime, but I just can't bring myself to do a repeat when there are such unique ones that I haven't tried yet.

It's only a few days until we can do FP+ for the MNSSHP in October. I sure wish I knew for sure who was coming - my parents say they are still "in", but want to bring my neice and nephew. SIL doesn't know if they will be able to or not. Sigh. Whether or not they are there will have a big impact on which rides we do - since if they come, I can send Lily off with them (they are older) to do thrill rides. Otherwise, we'll probably just all stick together in Fantasyland most of the time. Guess I'll make FP assuming they will be there, and hope for good news!
