My typical flying experince is it takes 30-45 mintues to get your checked luggae from the baggage area. Then you are talking about rush hour traffic time in Orlando.

I sort of agree with the pp about the check in time. Although, it does depend on how you are getting from the airport to Disney. Are you taking ME? Or are you renting a car? I've never used ME, since we live here in Orlando, lol, but have heard from others that it can take quite a while to get from the airport to your resort, because they stop at all the resorts of the people on the bus, and it depends on what order yours is in.

However, if you are renting a car, you may be able to get there a bit quicker, depending on how fast your bags get off the plane and to the carousel. I'm assuming that you are flying into Orlando International (MCO), and if you are and are renting a car, there is an exit from the airport directly onto 417, which is the road you would need to take to get to Disney. That part of 417 (between the airport and Disney) usually doesn't have a whole lot of traffic on it, even during rush hour times, but there are tolls that you have to stop for, lol.

As for the parades and such, I really don't know because we never stop for the parades! We use that time when everyone is watching the parades to ride the rides without major lines!

DH and I stayed at POP for our honeymoon in 2007, and we liked the food at the food court. Just be prepared for the long lines at breakfast time! There are a lot of rooms at POP and that means a lot of people in the food court!

We've used ME the last two times into MCO and it hasn't ever been over an hour and a half to our resort so 5pm would be about right from our experience. The last time we used ME we were staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge and the ME bus went to Caribbean Beach then to Pop and then to AKL and we were at AKL about exactly an hour and a half from when our plane landed.

When you are at Pop there isn't really anything else close by but you could catch a bus to Downtown Disney if you wanted to get a little Disney without the parks and you could eat there. They have some good restaurants over there- T-Rex is a favorite of ours. :) Also, if you wanted something to do after dinner you could head to one of the Mini golf courses and play. They are a lot of fun too.

For me, I think the very best parade is SpectroMagic or the Electrical Light Parade-whichever is running when you are there. I LOVE them both. You will probably also enjoy the MK afternoon parade at 3pm. Another of my favorites is the afternoon "parade" at Hollywood Studios- Pixar Block Party Bash. I don't know if Epcot even has a parade-do they? The parade at Animal Kingdom I think I have only seen once, many years ago, b/c we are always on the go tackling EE or taking in Lion King when we are there. ;)

I wouldn't plan on doing anything on the 8th except grabbing breakfast and heading to the airport. If you are on ME they will be getting you about 10am to head to the airport, I believe.

Happy Planning!
