Personal Research - Airfares

This is purely personal research. What's the cheapest airfare you've ever paid to fly to Orlando? I'm trying to compare not just apples to apples, but Red Delicious Apples to Red Delicious Apples (so to speak).

Therefore (no identifying info, please!): from where did you fly; on which airline; what time of day was your initial departure from your home city; teenager or adult fares (I have no one under 15 y.o.); Per person; & was it one way or round trip?

E.g., we fly to Tampa almost every year from Philadelphia, PA, and the cheapest we've paid is $88.00 per adult, round trip. The fares seem to increase during the summer, but then at the end of September-October, they dip again, and that's when we buy our tickets.

Thanks in advance.

We are flying from Louisville, KY direct to MCO on Delta for $159 round trip in August. I thought that was a pretty good fare, especially for Delta. It doesn't matter the ages of the kids on Delta, all prices are the same. Both the departing and returning flights leave around 1:00 and get in around 3:30. (We actually have to drive 90 mins to Louisville because we live in Cincinnati and the fares here are outrageous all the time! We can never get a direct flight to MCO for under $350.)

Thank you!

I should have thought to ask: What's your favorite time of day to fly, and why?

Idk about an evening flight, though. The first time we visited the in-laws outside of Tampa, I took the kids a few days ahead of dh, and we almost got lost going there from the airport! Thank goodness my middle dd, who was about 14 at the time, is an excellent map & directions reader and navigator. It was raining, too LOL.

I like to fly early enough to get me to WDW around noon-time, but not too early that we have to leave home really early (we have about an hour drive to Philly on a good day, so we need to leave early enough to make our flight). Last trip, our flight left at 8:55am, and we had to leave home around 5:30am in order to park, get shuttled, etc.

I like our departure time to be early evening, like 8 pm, because it gives us a full day in WDW before we have to go home. We usually use Magical Express, so we need to be picked up 3 hours prior to our flight. Leaving after 8pm works out best! Of course, by the time we arrive in Philly and wait forever for our luggage, and then drive an hour home...we are totally exhausted!

Anyone fly from Chicago?
We are flying from O'hare direct to Orlando on United (actually I think it is TED) for $185.00 round trip.
We leave at 11:00 am on Saturday then have a returning flight on Thursday at 1:30 pm.
But, there are 6 of us! And there's no way I would drive to Disney (no matter what the airline costs)!

Hey Steph! How are you doing? So you are going in September to Disney. Where are you flying from? We are flying from Newark to Orlando.

Hey, we're neighbors! I'm in the Lehigh Valley too. Are you flying from Allentown on your next trip, or from Philly?

I was never comfortable using Priceline. They put a hold on your credit card and you have to hope they come back with the right price, and if you find a better price in the meantime, you can't cancel with Priceline, you're stuck with their quote. Or at least that's how dh explained it to me.

Hi, Marcy,

Even at 99, that's a good fare. But so far, our best fares anywhere (LOL, do I sound like their spokesperson?) have also been with SW.

Where in the area are you? We are in South Philly, which is great for early morning flights since I'm not a morning person LOL.
