Personal Research - Airfares

This is purely personal research. What's the cheapest airfare you've ever paid to fly to Orlando? I'm trying to compare not just apples to apples, but Red Delicious Apples to Red Delicious Apples (so to speak).

Therefore (no identifying info, please!): from where did you fly; on which airline; what time of day was your initial departure from your home city; teenager or adult fares (I have no one under 15 y.o.); Per person; & was it one way or round trip?

E.g., we fly to Tampa almost every year from Philadelphia, PA, and the cheapest we've paid is $88.00 per adult, round trip. The fares seem to increase during the summer, but then at the end of September-October, they dip again, and that's when we buy our tickets.

Thanks in advance.

OMG, that's incredible! I know if I had to drive 90 minutes to just get to the airport, I'd probably hardly ever fly; I'm the only driver in our family.

Those Cincinatti airfares are ridiculous, too!

When we took an 8 a.m. flight to Tampa, we used an airport shuttle from home; part of the problem was we were taking 3 extra people with us for our in-law's 50th anniversary that year, and we all wouldn't have fit in my car with luggage too. And we are so close to the airport that to me, the $10.00 pp/each way is a reasonable price with luggage and all.

Magic Express, that's for if you're staying on-site, though, isn't it? And if you come home so late, if it were me, I'd be taking the next day off of work/school!

Last year, when we came home from Tampa, it was around 11-ish when we landed, and it seemed like 3 flights all shunted their luggage to the same pick-up carousel. What a madhouse! We had 4 of us and 11 pieces of luggage; I still don't know how my middle dd (she was 19yo then) found ALL the luggage, got it all onto a luggage dolly, and maneuvered through the crowds -- no, the hordes, to an exit door!

How has your experience been with Southwest? I only flew them once from Hartford to Las Vegas and it was a nightmare! They lost my luggage both ways!!! And destroyed a suitcase. Plus all our flights were late. It was however late december, so I know weather is a factor. But I am shy of trying them again. We flew Jet Blue to Orlando and loved it.

We went late April to early May on Jet Blue out of Boston to MCO and paid $124 one way and I believe $185 for the other way (plus tax and fees). That was the cheapest I could find on a direct flight on an airline I felt comfortable with. Early afternoon flight in, late morning flight back.

we have never had a problem with them. Our flights usually arrive early; even when they are a little late taking off..We have flown them like 20+ times and had one case of a late suitcase--but I think that was due more to Orlando airport than SW, and this past trip I did end up with a damaged suitcase--the only problem with ME is I dont know if it was Southwest or Disney who damaged it. BUt, overall, we have been very pleased with their service..and like I said, you cant beat their fares!

Just looked on the Jet Blue site out of curiosity and I found a $99 one way fare to Orlando from Syracuse for our September time slot, the total for 3 of us would be around $800.00. At that price it would be worth us driving from Ottawa to Syracuse (about 2 hrs) and even staying at a hotel the night before we'd still save around $400.00.

I will definitely have to think about that!
