Has anyone used the photo pass before? How many pics did yo have done and how many did you like? Is it worth the $100 if you prepay for it? I was just wondering. It seemed that it is about half of the pics didnt turn out. We are planning on spending 7 days at the park. I thought maybe there would be a pics I might want if they are easy to find and use. How hard are they to find in the park and are they in really good spots to take pics? If I preorder the cd now will it still be good in Aug? I couldnt find if they expire or not. Thank you for all the help.

I don't normally do the PhotoPass CD b/c it's tough getting my DH and kids to stand still for a photo. Last year, we went on a special tour which included a "free" PhotoPass CD - so I told my family that I was going to make it worth my while LOL We stopped at every park icon (the Castle, Spaceship Earth, the Sorcerer's hat and the Tree of Life) plus any characters we could find. :D

Occasionallly we have a photo taken and I want a copy - it's about $12 for one photo so if you can get at least 9 photos on your card, you will get your money's worth, especially since you can crop, edit and add logos and signatures before you request the CD and then make copies at home.

I know that the photo locations are usually prime areas or characters. When you have photos taken with a character, the PP photographer will take candid shots as well as the posed ones.

Many character meet and greets will have a PP photographer there although not all will. I found a link on Disney's Photopass site where they have maps of the parks and it shows you where you can find a PP photographer: http://www.disneyphotopass.com/aboutdpp_map_mk.aspx . If the link doesn't work, go to www.disneyphotopass.com and then click on "About Disney's PhotoPass Service" (at the bottom of the main page), then Photo Tips and Maps.

As I mentioned since we got our CD included in our tour, I took advantage of it but normally I do not. Some here get tons of pics taken which makes it very worthwhile.

I'm not sure about pre-ordering and any expiration dates. Hopefully someone else will give us some more info :)

My opinion is similar to Vals. We have never done the CD but my DH's favorite part of vacation is taking pictures. In a 7 day trip we usually have well over 1000 pics, most of them with us in it and we have pretty decent cameras so they come out well when developed. I usually do buy one, maybe two pictures from each trip of all of us though but it costs less than $30. Like Val said, the photo pass people are in all the prime locations, castle, Spaceship Earth, Tree of Life, character spots, but also some you might not expect. Every time we are in World Showcase, I see them somewhere around the America pavillion and have a gorgeous picture of us along with my parents, brother and his family with the backside of Spaceship Earth far off in the background. I did it for Christmas gifts that year but still wouldn't have made prepaying worth it...

I don't think we would ever prepay for the photo pass. Most of our photos that we took ourselves turned out great. We did keep the photo pass card, but I don't think we ever ordered any of their photos. It was nice to have the option in case any of ours didn't turn out, though.

We pre-paid for the CD one time, because (at that time) you could get a private photo session with a Photopass photographer at a resort for only $25 if you bought the CD. So we got our family photos for the year, plus TONS of photos from our trip. It was well worth it.

But, PP photographers will also take pictures with your camera (after they take their own), so you can still get all the shots. They just aren't as familiar with your camera, so the shots might not be quite as excellent. But you can still have group shots taken.

Your call - if you buy it, stop every chance you get and get tons of photos - it will be worth it. :)

I actually am not like the previous people and do love pre-ordering the photopass CD. My DH and I love looking for the photographers and will often find them in spots people do not think of. Not to mention I LOVE the magic shots. Shots where they use their computer later and add characters such as Stitch or Tinkerbell. Every time I find one we stop and get pictures because I want to get my "moneys worth." Doing that gave us a lot of great pictures. Then I would add almost every boarder to the pictures once I got home.
We definitely found a lot of photo pass people in a lot of places. And often they would have us do a regular pose and then do something funny or as I said add a magic shot. I like them because then I get pictures with my Dh and I instead of one or the other when we just use our camera.

I think this site has the best information (I can't do a direct link because they have a board of their own, and it's not okay to post links to other boards):

Ideas on where to get the photos? Well as others have said there are a bunch around the WS at Epcot and often they are very pretty scenes since the WS has such wonderful detail. We got our picture taken on the bridge to adventure land in MK as well. Any spot in AK again has wonderful backgrounds. Oh and a magic shot there is they will have you hold your arms like you are craddling a baby and place a computer baby simba in it later. VERY cute.
I know at DHS they often have us do funny poses like we are movie stars. Its not that I would never do these things but I often do not think of it until they suggest it.
As to the borders there are a lot. Once you get back home and enter the number on your photopass card they will generate different borders to use. I will try and add some magic shots and shots with borders to photobucket so I can post them here!

Ok so these are all pictures the photopass people did! The one with Tinkerbell in our hands is a magic shot. The rest are just borders I added once we were home. The borders are free when you are getting the CD. The one with the ghost I am not sure if that magic shot is always done. We normally go in September/October when the halloween party is going on so I am not sure if that shot is only around then. This will give you an idea of what you can do if you order the CD!
