Playhouse Disney Concert

Has Disney done playhouse concerts before? Has anyone been to them? We are going back in Sept b/c Freddie LOVES the Doodlebops & they will be there, but I want to make this as easy as possible & guarantee we get tickets to the show. If she does not enjoy the concert the trip would be kinda pointless, since it is a quick trip & I will be back @ work! Any tips would be really appreciated!

You are very welcome.
If there's ever anything I can do, I will be more than happy to help out. And that goes for all of you...if you need maps mailed to you or something you forgot to get at one of the parks, just let me know. We can arrange something. I only live 35min from the parks and downtown disney. Plus I'm at the parks 5 days a week.
But anyway..I can't wait to meet you.

Hi, Lisa (sorry OP for hijacking the thread!!)
This is Barbara. I haven't been reading every post but did I miss on you telling us how the new job is going? Do you love it as much as you thought you would? I do plan on stopping by to say hello in a mere 3 weeks!
DH DS9 and I will be at MGM on Thursday August 9th. We *think* we don't want to do Fantasmic (did it one time before and didn't love it), and instead go for a stroll on the BoardWalk (this is for nostalgic reasons since we had a romantic time there in 2000!), then head back to the resort for maybe a swim and bed. Now the question is this: Is the Board Walk "alive" on a Thursday, you think? We'd love to take DS9 to the magician, juggler, etc atmosphere and maybe rent a surrey bike for the 3 of us...but we don't want him to be disappointed by leaving the "cool" MGM just for the boat ride there and then a walk around and then back to the MGM just to take the bus back to the resort...kwim? We do have another two options for Board Walk, on our respective Epcot days...but Epcot is by far DHs and my favorite park and we'd hate to take time away from it for the Board Walk. (And one of those two is on a Sunday, which I've heard would mean the BW is pretty dead...so MGM/Thursday might be out best bet...unless you don't think so, and since I trust that you know what you're talking about, LOL, then I'd change my Epcot day to go on a Saturday!) What do you think??
Also, a DTD/Disney Quest question for you...if we plan to go there just as it opens on a morning, do you think the day of the week would make a difference in order to avoid crowds (it's either Sunday or Wednesday for us, either near the middle or end of the trip, morning either way!) TIA!!
came across this on allears and remembered your post:
... from Vanessa, along with other readers who emailed us with a similar story: Living in Florida and being passholders, we figured we'd head over to see the Doodlebops on Sunday, August 20. Well, there was no information about tickets being given out for guaranteed seating on the Disney website. So we showed up at around 9:45 a.m. and were hopeful to see the 11:15 a.m. show. By the time we got to the ABC Theater, it was 10:15 and the tickets were all gone for all four shows that day. Our only hope was a standby line. Many people were frustrated by this and I thought if we all knew beforehand, we would have arrived earlier. We did get to see the 1:15 p.m. show after standing on line for almost three hours. You are now warned -- arrive early!

So we should plan on picking up tickets as soon as the park opens. We are planning on seeing them on the 9th of September.
Anyone know what time the park opens? We have ADR's at MK at 7:20 and I am afraid this will mess us up.
Yes, the park opens at 9am. The gate opens at 8:45 and you can go just so far (right past the store I work in)...watch the Street Performers and at 9am they take away the ropes.
Bari,
We'll be there from 9-8 to 9-16. Hopefully we'll run into each other.
