Please explain DVC vs. AP

Ok, I know this may sound repetitive but I have done my homework before posting this, I just get confused real easy!

I am going to Disney Sept. 20-30, our very first trip (myself, dh and 4 kids). Our trip is already paid for but I have a few questions. We are staying at Wilderness cabins and have the free dining, this would always be very important as dining could be very expensive otherwise for 6 of us. That being said.....

1) Assuming we can make it back to Disney in 11 months, does the AP cost much more than a regular visit to Disney?

2) We have already paid, any way to change our tickets in for AP's when we arrive?

3) If the free dining is offered when we go next year can you still use your AP and get the free dining? As I understand it you can but you still have to buy a 1 day ticket or you can use it as credit towards your renewal, correct?

I know there are alot of what-ifs here, just curious If I am going about this in a way that makes the most financial sense.

(I did edit the dvc questions as I don't think we would benefit from this. It seems to be more geared for deluxe resorts but that's just not our thing)

Thanks again, Carrie

I will take a stab at answering them...........

1) Assuming we can make it back to Disney in 11 months, does the AP cost much more than a regular visit to Disney?

This depends on how you use them. I would check into the cost of an AP versus the amount of days for a park pass with hopper. This will tell you if you will save any.

2) We have already paid, any way to change our tickets in for AP's when we arrive?

Your tickets can be upgraded to AP's anytime they are still valid. Any guest services can help you with this.

3) With DVC, what are the benefits over an AP or the cons if any.
I don't think I understand your question here so I won't answer. :)

4) If the free didning is offered when we go next year can you still use your AP and/or DVC discounts with the free dining.
To qualify for dining you will still have to purchase at least a one day ticket for each member of your party to receive the dining. These tickets will never expire so you can hang onto them or put their value towards an AP renewal.

Ok, please correct me anyone if I have answered incorrectly. :)
