If you book 2 years in advance you will only be able to book a room only reservation. Your deposit will be made on the current years prices and price is subject to change as room rates are announced. The only way your rate will not go up is if it is paid in full before any price increase. If you choose to later switch the room only to a package (including tickets) you have to cancel your room only and book a package your rate would be whatever the rate is at that time. Disney have been really slow at getting package rates out. It used to be one year, but we're still waiting for 08 packages right now.

If you know you want a package, it's probably a better idea to set aside the money you would be using to make monthly payments into a savings account so that when packages are announced you can book and make a hefty down payment if not pay it in full.

I started planning our trip based on 2006 rates, with the understanding that it would be a little more. I think with the increase in room rate, the addition of the 'summer' season at the values ($10 more a night), and the rest, the difference was only $200 or so for a 9 day trip. The 2007 rates came out sometime around late May or so.
