Question regarding airlines

We are leaving in one week for Disney!!! I'm getting so excited as you can imagine. I'm trying to get some stuff packed and my dh just informed me that we cannot take shampoo or toothpaste on the plane. Anyone know if this is true? I haven't found any info about it on United's website but he swears he saw it.

For the latest on what you can and cannot bring, check the TSA site:
http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/prohibited/permitted-prohibited-items.shtm
Here is what I'm finding specifically when it comes to shampoo and toothpaste:
** All liquids, gels and aerosols must be in three-ounce or smaller containers. Larger containers that are half-full or toothpaste tubes rolled up are not allowed. Each container must be three ounces or smaller.
All liquids, gels and aerosols must be placed in a single, quart-size, zip-top, clear plastic bag. Gallon size bags or bags that are not zip-top such as fold-over sandwich bags are not allowed. Each traveler can use only one, quart-size, zip-top, clear plastic bag.
Each traveler must remove their quart-sized plastic, zip-top bag from their carry-on and place it in a bin or on the conveyor belt for X-ray screening. X-raying separately will allow TSA security officers to more easily examine the declared items.
Please keep in mind that these rules were developed after extensive research and understanding of current threats. They are intended to help air travelers bring essential toiletries and other liquids, gels and aerosols for short trips. If you need larger amounts of liquids, gels and aerosols such as toothpaste or shampoo, please place them in your luggage and check them with your airline. **
Personally, I am going to be safe and pack shampoo and toothpaste in my checked luggage. I will take eye drops and such in my carry-on, because I may need them during the flight.

I flew the week the extra strict (absolutely NO liquids, gels, pastes etc) rules were in place over the summer. Hhonestly, when the rules were adjusted to what they are now, I thought it was much much easier to not have any of it in the carry on then have to make sure it was smaller than a certain size and in a certain size ziploc bag and each person has to hold their own and and ... lol
Just make sure your contact solution is clearly labeled and in a quart sized bag and no, you can't bring Hannah's juice, unless hse needs it for a medical reason, but you can bring her cup and have them give you juice on the plane. Its a pain, I know (I fly back and forth to Cincinnati monthly with my now 17 month old) But we are pros at getting through security now! (No belts or metal of any kind - even overalls!, slip on shoes for both of us, "plane diaper bag" packed and kept separate from the "regular Diaper bag", airline friendly snacks, and will even take the stroller so we can go through the "extra" security station that is usually empty, then gate check it so we can use it right up to the airplane door LOL!)
