Howdy,

We are heading back to Disney this week...staying for 3 nights at the campground. We've been several times, but I still have much to learn! Not to mention...the place keeps changing! We want to have a great spot for the fireworks at Epcot. Can you really work it so that you have a seat at a restaurant so you can be eating and watching? Where? How do I work it?

I have read that the SPACE ride now has a tamer version, but I'm afraid I'm even too chicken for that. Can you just sort of come in the back and see the stuff they have at the exit?

We have yet to go see Fantasmic. My daughter has inherited my cautious style ;-) and since it says it may be scary, we havent' gone, but I think we want to check it out this time. Is there anything really all THAT scary about it?

Oh and.....I have firgured out which nights/mornings the parks are open late/early, but how do you know what the extended amount of time is? The disney site just says 'up to 3 hours late'.

Thanks!!!
Pam

- the only restuarants that i think this *might* be possible for would be chef's de france or rose & crown (because they have windows). the view would be obstructed at best. i would try to time my dinner to be done before illuminations starts.

- yes, this is true for all rides i can think of.

- in my opinion, it's not that scary. it does get very dark. i think you should go for it.

but how do you know what the extended amount of time is? The disney site just says 'up to 3 hours late'.
- every time i've been, they've stayed open for 3 hours.

hth.

When they stay open that extra 3 hours for resort guests, does it really get less crowded at the parks (particularly the MK) or are there so many resort guests that is doesn't really make a difference?

Thanks again!

Hey Pam!

I've been thinking about you. Figured y'all were probably out of school, too. E-mail me!

There are a couple restaurants that have outside seating at Epcot, but those seats are VERY hard to come by...especially in preparation for Illuminations since everybody wants to do that. Your best bet is to get a table early at Mexico's Cantina since you can seat yourself and not have to be waited on.

The 3 hours EMH applies no matter what time the public closing time is. If MK closes at 12 midnight, it will stay open to resort guests until 3 am!

Still haven't done Fantasmic! either. Didn't have time last trip 2½ years ago...we didn't even go to MGM that trip.

I've heard there's a lot to see at Mission:Space if you don't ride.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Alysha
