Oh my, I am in a dither! Hoping I can get advice, opinions please.
First, I'm colleen, have posted here in the past when planning a previous trip. We went down in November 2003, had a fabulous time, and my boys starting asking "when can we go back" on the plane ride home.
Since then, we have been thru a lot. My dad struggled and succumbed to cancer, our family was shell-shocked. Our school consolidated, and that was another big adjustment.
I just heard about the free dining, and am really tempted to book a trip! We could use some "magic". But I am hesitant about going in September since that is hurricane season. Also, are the crowds much bigger due to the special package? How much of a savings is the free dining? When would I need to make ADR's?
I would appreciate any input on dining plan, trips during September, weather stories.
Thank you so much!

I will tell you about our Sept trip last year. WE went the week after labor day, as we are doing again this year! The crowds were...What crowds? There were no crowds. We waited an average of 5 minutes to get on rides. No hurricanes last year while we were there. Chances are, if there is a hurricane, it will only affect you for one day. Disny is probably a very safe place to ride out a hurricane. We had a great time. The girls got to play red light, green light with peter pan and Wendy and got to ride Snow White's ride with snow white! I have a great pic of Snow white..one arm around each daughter walking to the ride!
I already made my ADR's. You want to make them as soon as you have decided to go. Most likely you will get each place you want, just have a harder time getting the time you want.
Good luck and I hope a little Disney magic comes your way!
Older DS will be a freshman in high school, and I need to talk to someone there to see how much he will be "frowned upon" to miss. But that week is the county fair here, and many kids are out to take care of animals there. So hopefully that will not be a deterrent. Younger DS will be in 5th grade, and I think won't miss too much at the beginning of the school year. In fact, I work at the school part-time, and teachers don't want me to start till after the fair.
I'm so excited!
Thanks, colleen

Thank you Val, I hope this trip can work out. My sons are just great kids, they have been thru a lot, and have been my reason to keep going.
As for pixie dust, last year we gave ourselves a dachshund puppy, and named her Pixie! She has been a blessing, comical and cuddly.
If this trip doesn't go, then I'll definitely be looking for another date. I'll have to check school schedules.

Thanks, I'm not too concerned about younger DS, he will be in 5th grade. But older DS will be in his first year of high school, which is a whole new adventure for us! I don't want to get on the wrong side of any teacher right off the bat.
But that is county fair week, and I hope it will be a good time to miss.
I am really getting excited about this!
